HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM [SECOND BLOG]

A BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH KIM

THE AUSTRALIAN SWINE FLU

The newspaper report says "Australian spike may push swine flu level to pandemic ." New cases in Australia have jumped to more than 1000 on Monday and has hit Melbourne and Victoria very hard.

I had no idea this was happening. Kenny had to take Matthew to the hospital for a burn on his arm and he will see that doctor again Thrus.
But now Melina and Natthew are running temperatures, Melina is sick to her stomach and feeling all achy. Ken was going to try and see the doctor regarding Matthew's temperature but doctors are not taking patients but you can wait in a line and hope to see them.

We are very concerned for them all.

We wish we could be there but the best we can do is send our love and our prayers.

WHERE ARE MY GLASSES?

We enjoy a visit with Shara and Addison, Theresa and Ben and Morgan
Morgan loves to dance and get her picture taken

Addison is serious while Morgan looks on and Ben spends time out for playing too rough. He played very well after Theresa had a little talk to him

We need, well I need, to keep a sense of humour; or else I would just feel like quiting life all together. If you look carefully I have three pairs on me.

Can you see them? This is a little exaggerated but very close to the truth.

When I look around me and see all the crazy animals that give us joy just looking at them. I look at our family and see many different personalities and wonder why we are so different. Children are a wonderful source of fun and even Jesus suggested being like a child again to really see life.
Besides loosing things I am putting on shirts inside out and never notice until I look in the mirror. I do not like looking in the mirror and seeing how old I am looking. I am learning to laugh at that too!
I now have a reputation on the street for the mad waterer as I water to try and keep the transplanted flowers from dropping and dying. So first thing in the morning and last thing at night out I go.
And what kind of house keeper finds pine needles from the Christmas tree in June? Me of course!
I think one of the gifts of old age is suppose to be wisdom, so it is aging to saging. Sounds okay but I still find myself awake at night with many unanswered questions stirring and unsettling me.
I am still learning and processing this life. I can remember little accidents my children had; Rick cut his tongue standing up in his high chair and need stitches. Sandra burnt her hand putting twisers in the electrical socket. Carol got hit by the Milk Truck riding her bike. Kenny cut his forehead on the fireplace.
Parenthood is tough but I have always felt a love that brings me joy as we go through our difficult times. I am determined to keep an open mind as well as an open heart and keep praying for things to work out.
Today it is off to the bird sanctuary with Kim to celebrate her birthday.

SUNDAY BLESSINGS

SANDRA WORKS VERY VWERY HARD ON MY DISORGANIZED GARDEN. WHAT A GIRL. I AM SO THANKFUL ! ! ! !

CHURCH TOGETHER

THIS IS MY BEGINNING ; BIBLE AND PRAYER NOTES

Grandpa likes his maps
Thank you Sandra for all your hard work and also coming to visit the grumps. Anyway dad and I had a happy evenning together. We went to the Green Lettice [walking] picked up bread and mild at the store and watched the video The Kite Flyer.
Thanks Rick for the phone call. Too bad Chris has to move.
We took stones to church to remind us we are living stones built on the foundation of Jesus as Lord. 1 Corinthians. Our purpose is to build a spiritual house, strongly united but a unity that does not call for uniformity. We contribute in different ways to fulfill our dreams and to celebrate God's loving presence.

TRUE PROMISES

THE ENERGY OF LOVE EXPRESSED AT A PICNIC. MORGAN GAZING AT KIM. BEN PROUD OF HIS NEW MOHAWK FOUND THE PERFECT WALKING STICK FOR ME.

I am searching for deeper spiritual meaning in my life that reveals to me how I can be more helpful and useful. I would like to have more energy to keep the passion of the spirit alive as well as more energy for my physical body.

I bought some packets of a sports drink that promised "energy, stamina, mental focus and recovery. Great promises but did not work for me yesterday I came home and had a two hour sleep and even then had a hard time waking up. The church meeting in the morning was lively and fun and I enjoyed it.

I ask myself this morning what does Jesus the Christ promise me. He promises his heart of unconditional love and compassion. Everything has a deeper spiritual meaning and purpose.

Jesus, a tiny baby that could have been cradled in my arms has become a man of authority so gifted he challenges us all to grow and change. I believe when he said shake the dust off your feet he meant the dusty past of church doctrine that has held people captive instead of allowing them to be free.

Jesus takes my painful experiences and they become like shadows that disappear. I need to be honest and face my false beliefs that have only been disillusions. Spirituality must be ethical as well an inward presence of holiness.
Life and death are a reality as is sickness and sinfulness. Sin is our failure to love and to accept one another and our failure to see injustice. Jesus healed the deaf, gave sight to the blind, forgave sin but he did not raise up an army to kill with the sword. The sword he puts in our hands is the living word that speaks to us individually.
I came home yesterday and slept for several hours. The promise of great new energy did not happen.
Younger people are not attending church because they are too busy or see no need of it or are very critical of all it stands for. As long as one stands outside the door and remains closed to the mystical spiritual ideas that are waiting to be experienced by those open and willing to embrace new thoughts and ideas. I have always thought I was more of a Mary who sits at the feet of Jesus than a Martha who is busy preparing food.
Our picnic was fun it was simple and we finished by stopping at an ice cream place where we had to choose from a great variety of flavours. Religion or spirituality also comes in many flavors.
Jesus promised joy in the midst of difficulties and the unfairness of life.
I read the news paper and I feel cold and numb; blank and empty of hope.
Jesus brings warmth and promise that good can overcome evil not in a preety way but sometimes with bloody sacrifice!
D-Day reminds us of all those who died for our freedom and their stories live on and remind us never to take freedom for granted.
Faith in the energy of the love of Jesus heals and restores me!
