DISCOVERY

I was so thrilled to see how beautiful Ottawa looked on the day of the swearing in ceremonies.  Also all the people chosen seemed to be excellent but we will discover more about them as they learn more about their  tasks. Today I started on what I call discovery of what is going on within me.  I was hoping I would have the Cystoscopy before Dec. 22 but there are lots needing this test I am sure.  Maybe I will already have the answer from the M.R.I of my head.  Poor health is miserable and I have sympathy for others going through tests and painful conditions.  I did go visiting after coming home and resting from our trip to the doctor.  Dad saw an advertisement that there may be some one who can help or a least have this treatment that may help.

That was a great discovery.

I was going to write about discovering God or ways we can experience the wonder of faith.

Prayer for me is one way and also being with a group of believers where there is also a special energy that seems to flow around us all.

Love is a part of that energy that I know!

SAFE NOT SORRY

An early start for dad and I as we drove down to the church to attend a meeting about safety.  A representative was there from the police to give us warning tips about the different scans that are going on around us.

These scan artists are getting smarter and know all the tricks.  A lot of information we already were aware of but it was good to be reminded that there are a lot of good people but also a lot of crooks who want to steal everything from our identity to the valuables we have in our homes.

Organizing a good meeting with time for discussion and questions is not always easy but a group of church women can do a great job.  We want to work together to make our world safer and also to preserve the values that bring out the best in each other.  It was a good morning.

We are reminded to be aware of what is happening around us whether it is when we are shopping or just out for a walk.  I am guilty of being careless especially if I try to hurry packing up my groceries and putting change away in my purse.  I now have a mantra that says take your time and do it right!

I am off to the urologist Thursday so that will be another early start.  It is just in White Rock so a short drive.  I am hoping I will think of the right questions to ask and take my time answering any questions truthfully.

THANKFUL

Happy Birthday Shawna!
A woman of faith and love and courage with a very generous spirit.  Love you lots!

So  thankful that I found my camera  in the most unlikely place!  The first place I should look for anything is under my bed!  I do not know how it got there but there it was.

I am thankful that though I lose many things that I have not lost my faith.  Trying to find words to what you believe can be confusing and frustrating to others.  It is so help as a Christian to know the words of Jesus and his experiences that have made my faith alive and meaningful.

I have just finished talking to my brother and sister-in-law.  Traudl is now having problems speaking and at times loses her voice completely.   This is part of the effects of her cancer.  The pills she has to take to prevent further growths are causing her arthritis to be more painful  Her knees are very painful so they cannot hike or even walk very far.

Brian has to have another operation on his sinuses where growths have to be removed yearly.

He related a good story, that would seem like another tall tale, but I believe him.  Before Traudel could start her cancer treatment after surgery she needed a bone x-ray to see how strong they were.  They phoned Cranbrook and were told that there would be months of waiting before they could get in to have it done.

Brain prayed for help and then decided they would drive down to Cranbrook anyway with no hope of getting their x-ray.  When they arrived all x-rays had been cancelled because the equipment had been damaged.  When suddenly the word came the machine was fixed and since they were right there they were first to get the done density checked.

A miracle among all the darkness.

I believe that all of us experience the presence of God working in our souls every single day.  He is the energy and the source of our lives as we breathe in and out.  This force is with us and drawing us to be creators of goodness and love to others.

I am thankful for my faith!

TALL TALES

Sunday night I spent at Carol and Panteli's listening to tall tales.  Hard to believe some of them.

Dad is very good  at this kind of thing.

He is not  so good at going to the store with me.  We each had a list and it should have been simple.  The problem was Me. Everything has been changed around and I stand looking for something and others zoom in beside and pick up their item and away they go.  I look to see what they got because maybe I should be getting that.  I find it an effort as I do a lot of things these days.  Meanwhile dad speeds through his shopping and waits at the check-out for me.  I am no where in sight. He has tolet others go through and the clerks are laughing.  Does he really have a wife?

He checks out and goes to sit in the car.  Now I am looking for  him.  I decide to check out and he comes back in.  He was not in a good humor.  I am slow and I am sorry and we will have to do something differently next time.

It is a challenge in life not to hurt others but  we all makes mistakes.

I am thankful  yesterday is over.  I also lost my camera maybe at the park.

....today I will follow my spirit and be positive and let go of stress.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Good friends!

Yes we have been good friends for  over 50 years!

Sunday morning I had my short walk and then rested until it was time to celebrate Pearl's 96th birthday.  Let's go I say to dad but he thinks its too early and we do not want to be the first there.
We ended up last.  There were other old friends and family.

Friendship means that there is someone who understands where you've been, knowing where you want to go, and accepts you for who you are!

Friendships mean not having to face the challenges  alone.

I count my family among  my dearest  friends!

Enjoyed a delicious supper at Carol and Panteli's with Kim and Haiti.

Today I had a walk to the park and dad has gone foe a bike ride.

WORDS FROM THE PAST

Dad  and I were very pleased the weather cleared up.  The rain stopped and the   wind was calmer. Our neighborhood had some decorations especially the house  beside ours.

You had to enter the dark garage where there were scary creatures all over the place, even mice and snakes and spiders ready to attack  you.

They made   cotton candy for each one of the children  and they thought it was great.

We had less children than last year so have lots  of candy left over  to  tempt us.  Although most chocolate I cannot eat..

Dad and I enjoyed a visit from Sandra and Randy and Kim was available to make tea and join in the discussions.

Carol came by later after helping a friend  clean house all day.  She took Haiti home with her and we were thankful she had.  The fireworks were long and loud.

We missed out visiting our old book study group and a friend visiting from the Island.  Dad did phone and they caught up on news that way.
Our nature lady!

I am reading my old journals.
Listen to what your illness is trying to tell you.

Be open to the experience and flow loving energy!

Pearl is 95 I think a long time friend who I visited  with as a lay-chaplain at Peace Arch.
We have a birthday party at noon so will not be going to church.

HELP

I think he is kinda cute.  I took this picture on my short walk around the block and also picked up lots of fun leaves.  I find it helpful to wake up and go for a walk first thing,  It was raining a tiny bit but the air is so fresh and wakes up my spirit.

I am going to need help with some things especially with remembering birthdays,  I was in tears when Sandra and Randy left and I was reminded of Shawna's birthday.

I rushed to the mailbox with her card.  A dear lady caught up to me and asked me if I needed a ride.  That is the second day in a row I have been offered a ride.  Yesterday I was carrying to parcels from the Safeway.

I daily ask for help in my prayers for myself and my family and friends.  I take time to be reminded of His presence and the privilege and power of prayer.  I choose to be confident that I am being heard and that I continually must be patient when waiting for answers.
Dad has gone for a bike ride, the sun has come out from hiding.
Carol is stopping by to pick up Haiti because she is fearful of the fire works and last year we had a lot.

My leaves.
