A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Good friends!

Yes we have been good friends for  over 50 years!

Sunday morning I had my short walk and then rested until it was time to celebrate Pearl's 96th birthday.  Let's go I say to dad but he thinks its too early and we do not want to be the first there.
We ended up last.  There were other old friends and family.

Friendship means that there is someone who understands where you've been, knowing where you want to go, and accepts you for who you are!

Friendships mean not having to face the challenges  alone.

I count my family among  my dearest  friends!

Enjoyed a delicious supper at Carol and Panteli's with Kim and Haiti.

Today I had a walk to the park and dad has gone foe a bike ride.

How wonderful to have friends for over 50 years! A lovely party for a lovely lady....what a grand age she is! So glad you were able to go, Beth.

Yes, getting together with chums from our school days is fun too and a "Blast from the Past".
We had many laughs together. It is hard to believe that we all started grade 1 together, 65 years ago. About 25% of our classmates have passed on...but we plan on sticking around for a long time yet!

We are almost ready for the snow and winter weather....the yard is all tucked away for winter and the house has been winterized...well almost that is. We have to clean the eaves troughes and put the cover on the air conditioner. I have the winter hall runner in place by the door, ready for ice and snow to drag in with people. The winter boots, mitts etc are put out.
Once we get our van back it will need to have the winter tires put on. So otherwise we are ready! I guess you don't have to think of some of these things! We also have to get the long extension cord out for the block heater in the car. Something you don't need. Once we bought a Toyota van at Nanaimo and when we got home realized it had no air conditioning and no block heater.....well it didn't take us long to have it installed!

Good to hear you had a walk in the park and Larry got out on his bike....there is nothing better than fresh air!

Love, Nancy

PS the repair shop said a mouse was still in the van when it arrived there. it was towed 300 kms to be thoroughly cleaned...they take everything apart and put the van in an ozone tent, then steam clean it, repair the damage and put it all back together. It costs thousands of dollars apparently.
The mice were even in the motor and took foam from there to their nest under the back seat. They say 20 - 50% of deer mice carry Hanta Virus and the chances of a person recovering is only 50 %. So autopac takes it seriously. We were fortunate to have escaped the virus. We know of two people who have died from it, who live here.

Nancy that is a horrible story. What awful damage those darn creatures have done.

Does insurance cover it.?

So many difficult challenges you two face and keep cheerful

I admire you both,

Love beyh.
