Yes, hiring a student is a great idea to walk Spenser and do chores for you.
It is very hot here and the painter is working on prepping the house for painting. it was only painted once in a lot of years and needs lots of work. it will look so nice once everything is done. We are excited to see it!
AFter four hot days the garden is leaping ahead by leaps and bounds...that is how it is here on the prairies. The garden has a shorter growing season that at the coast and things really leap ahead. ken is so faithful watering every morning. it takes him an hour. but he really enjoys it. In the evening we have to water the potted flowers again.
I think the first thing we will eat is lettuce and maybe spinach.
We have two budgies and they are so darned entertaining. We let them out of the cage, and yes, it is messy, but they tend to just sit on the curtain rod by the window so I put waxed paper on the floor and it catches their mess, most of the time! We have had them for four years and they are 6. I am cleaning up after them right now...cleaning their cage too. Actually it just takes maybe a half hour a week...really not much work. We really like them and their antics. Tweety is a boy and Syl is a girl. We though Syl was a boy for a long time but nature proved otherwise. Tweety is usually trying to charm Syl and she often wants nothing to do with him and gives out a big SQUACK. He bobs and chases her and sings...but she is unimpressed.
Ken made another compost bin for us today...we compost a lot of things. it is like black gold in the garden. But it is too hot to work outside now, so we both are in and working on inside stuff. Just taking a break and now back to work on the budgie cage.
Hope you feel better...don't wait too long though and get really sick.
