HARVEST HEALING

DSCN6049Harvest time is something we all look forward to when the time has come to reap the fruits of our labour.  Even the harshness of life that makes life difficult can yield a harvest, especially if we use our experiences to help another.

Hopefully the harvest will have given us strength of character, a deeper empathy and compassion for others.

Here I sit at my computer with an  ice bag between my legs and a bag of ice on my hand.  My hand has now broken out in hot, itchy blisters.  Dad comes in (dad had a good day today) and insists we go to the emergency.  I say I'll phone and see if I can get an appointment with Dr. Nolte.

He was going to be at the clinic at 6.  I started to get ready and Ken phoned from Melbourne to see how we were doing.
It was crowed at the clinic but it took only 40minutes.  Dad ended up missing his soccer game.

Dr. Nolte said it was one of the worse cases he had seen but the root of the problem was making an allergic reaction with the skin cream.  This was causing burning pain and the itch, and blisters..  I will be using ice on it again to-night but very relieved.  Healing should really begin now.

Brian and Traudl are home again and there have been a few problems with drainage tubs but her blood pressure has come right down.  They will go for radiation or keymo

It would be nice if all of us have a harvest Healing.

Have a safe trip Nancy I am always happy to get home again.

Is that all from your yeast infection mom? Good to know your body is quick to tell you what it does not like. That is great news that Traulde is doing well.

Sounds like Dad prefers breakfast at Carols, so we can do Sunday at say 10:00? I will call Carol and see what she prefers.

Oh dear! I feel so badly for you, Beth...what a miserable thing to have. I am so glad that Larry saw you went back to the doctor and you received help. I hope today is easier for you and the infection clears up quickly. Just take it easy and rest.

Good to hear your sister in law is home and doing well after her big surgery. I send healing thoughts to her.

Thanks for the wishes for a safe trip....the highway is so busy at this time of year with all the beach traffic. The highway ends here and there are many beaches along the way from Winnipeg. Half of the trip to Winnipeg is single lane and really is dangerous in heavy traffic...especially with impatient drivers....or those going home who have been drinking. We really need it twinned.

It is another beautiful day...with cool fresh nights. Can hardly wait to get home with some new plants and garden! yay!

Take care my friend,

Love, Nancy

Hi Gramma, I received an email from Mom saying that you broke your arm. How terrible. I wish I was there to help you guys. Rest lots and hopefully you have pain killers that will help make the pain bearable. I will try to call tomorrow from the lodge phone. Love you guys.

Now I doubly feel so sorry for you Beth! What a terrible accident to happen to you. I wonder how it happened and I wonder how you are doing today. Maybe Larry can give us some updates when he has time. I hope they can control your pain and hope you heal quickly....I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You must have given larry a big scare.

I was thinking that once you are feeling better you may be able to use the microphone on your computer or your cell phone to post blog messages. I have it on my iphone.

I wish I was nearby and could visit you a cook a meal for you and Larry...but I know you have family nearby and they are very good to you!

Take care now,

Love to you both,
Nancy

Mom has now been moved up to the elder care ward while they work on her walking and making sure there are no underlying reasons for her fell that might be affecting her health.

Grama likes it a bit better on the 5th floor - however the strength in her legs is not improving and tonight after walking her to the wash room and waiting outside she stood up evidently and her left leg just gave way and she fell - gave her shoulder a bit of a jolt but evidently not to bad - she cut her shin on the trolly thing that has the feeding tubs on it.

I told the nurse she had fallen and I needed a few band aids - she never returned - the night nurse came on about 20 mins later and was quite concerned and noted the other nurse had not mentioned it - or put it in her report. She put a very nice clear large bandage on it.

Mom is still in pretty good spirits - Carol has lent her a new dvd player that she can hold in her hand and watch a movie. Her and the night nurse were going to get it working after I left at 8:30

Gosh, that must have given you a terrible scare, Larry..and to think the nurse didn't even respond or tell the next nurse who came on shift. I am so glad you were there with Beth to help her. I hope she will be able to get stronger and walk unaided. What a terrible thing to happen to her...break her arm and now being weak.

I am sure the DVD player will give Beth some happy hours and help pass the time. What a good idea Carol!

Please tell Beth I send my prayers for a speedy recovery and I look forward to when she can resume her daily blog...I am thinking of all the Bennett family at this time. You have such a large and loving family to give support to each other in tough times.

Thank-you so much for the update, Larry, take care, my friends

Love to you both,
Nancy
