WEALTH

Great health is something all the riches in the world cannot buy and it is the most precious possession!

There is a four legged, long haired creature who loves to bark and to dig.  She has chosen this spot to dig to China.  I have put some flowers there but dad thinks it is stupid.  Of course another hole has appeared over on the grassy side by the little stream.  Some dogs just have to dig.

I am so thankful for the health that I do have and for each new day.

I did not go to church yesterday but I seem to need some extra rest right now.

Dad sat very hidden in his shade deck eavesdropping on people walking by, reading a book I picked up for him at the library.  The title is "Father's Day" and is about a dad who goes on a road trip with his special-needs son.  It is an emotional and yet humorous story about a father and son connecting and both becoming aware of their humanness.  An insightful story.  I will read it too when he finishes.

I am trying to finish my library book which is due today.

Panteli had a workshop out at Harrison Hot Springs. Certainly a wonderful refreshing place to be. Carol joined him on Thursday;  and then when he went home she went to Chilliwack to look after Morgan while the family where with  Ben at the soccer tournament.

I hope they had a good week-end.

Wealth....here again, people think of wealth in different ways. Some think of monetary things like possessions...others think of the intangible things like good health, family and friends. I have a friend who has to buy absolutely everything she sees....her garden is so full of statues, objects,
bridges over dry beds, running rivers with goldfish ponds ...overhanging awnings for shade...a cook tent, a gazebo and on it goes. Now don't get me wrong...it is all very lovely...but the sad thing is....her son, his wife and their grandchildren are estranged from her. She is so sad. These are her only Grandchildren...there is someone who can buy whatever she wants....but has such a void in her life where money cannot buy happiness.

Digging to China, haha I haven't heard that in years! That Haiti sure brings you a lot of fun...and keeps you busy. We love our dogs don't we? My two had a mini grooming yesterday. I trimmed all the fur around their eyes and face. Bella has the real poodle look and Max looks a lot like a Schnauser. He sure has the high pitched "scream" that Schnauzers have...that is when he is happy...he gets so excited and screams....especially when children come. Bella is not nearly as vocal...but she is more active and patrols the perimeter of our fenced yard, looking for any interlopers.

It is a good thing that you recogonize your need for more rest and don't push yourself to do things that are too tiring...."going with the flow " is best!

I am reading an interesting book called 'The Bookseller'. Apparently it is a best seller and it is really different. I like it...but won't spoil it for you in case you borrow it too. It is a novel.

Your potted flowers look so pretty and disguise the 'hole to Chine' quite well, Beth.

Love, Nancy

Well, I think having some wealth might improve your chances of having good health.
More likely to have a better diet and access to medical care I would think.

Randy's dad is very down in the dumps these days, listing all of the reasons he is sure to die very soon. He has alienated himself from all of the family there so must be getting lonely.

And then there is little Simone, who when she walked into daycare today announced "Simone is two!" Not much getting her down these days.
