CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve has always been the most beautiful and hopeful time for me.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone after church tonight.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon in the Emergency in Ladner.  I was having very bad chest pain.  I was short breath and very tired.

After blood work and a chest x-ray they found fluid in the lungs.  I was given prenizone and a thing to blow into and an appoint with another clinic.

Happy Christmas Eve..  Good to share the love!

So sorry to hear that you were at the hospital Beth. I hope you don't have the flu or one of those awful bugs that are going around here. so many people are sick here with strep throats and flus. I hope you feel better soon.

I guess you stayed home this evening...to rest. We did too. We were tired after a busy day. Ken cut down a huge birch tree that was dead. It sounded like an earthquake when it hit the ground. THUMP.
Tomorrow we go to Mark and Shelleys for Christmas dinner. Shelley is a fabulous cook so it will be good! I am taking a wild rice casserole, coleslaw, carrots and raspberry shortcake. The raspberries are from kens garden...and they are delicious. An old strain of raspberries that were brought from Russia by the Mennonites many years ago. I hav
e never tasted such good ones.

It is bedtime....we usually read for a while...so I will wish you a good night. Feel better Beth.

Merry Christmas to all
Love Nancy

I meant to ask, did you find it too noisy at church, or was it just right because you dont hear well. It was an OK service, not a Colebrook that is for sure.

I was up before 4 am so I could Duo Mary when the kids opened their presents. As usual it was very noisy. Oh, and it will soon be even noisier at Stephen and Shawna's as they are expecting number 4 in July.

Boxing Day.....How are you feeling Beth? I am worried about you..Having fluid in the lungs isn't a good thing. Be sure and go back it you still aren't feeling well.

Prednisone lowers your resistance to bugs... so stay away from anyone who has a cold or flu.

Were you able to get out for Christmas Dinner yesterday? We had a lovely dinner at Shelley and Marks...way too much stuff.

When we arrived home last night we came in the house and started getting our dog ready to go out for a walk. It was dark. But suddenly we heard a pack of coyotes howling like what seemd to be right at our door. Ken got the bear banger and went out and chased them off...it sounds like a shot gun. He was brave walking into the bush and chasing them.
So we had to be very careful walking PEDRO. I have a cattle prod that I carry as well as the bear banger and KeN walks with us when it is dark.
The coyotes have been a huge problem this winter...far too many and they are brazen...challenging me, by walking towards Pedro and I. I believe there is a 'quiet' culling of them going on.
There has always been coyotes here, but they were rarely seen. Things have changed a lot.

I may have unwittingly baited them by giving Foxy and Christmas treat of uncooked liver.
So will stick to just dog food for her.

We will work outdoors today onl the large birch tree ken took down. Lots of brush to haul upp the hill. Being lakefront and there is a cliff in front of the house..there is a a pretty good incline to walk up. All good to work off some of those calories from Christmas.

Please let me know how you are doing Beth,

Wishing you and Larry a good day today.

Love, Nancy
