STRESSFUL

Suffering is a part of life.

It is distressful to see your friend suffering the pain of cancer.  Our friend was happy to see us but unhappy for us too see how she had failed.  She needs a lot of help and care.  I feel she should be in hospice.  Dad helped her up to sit at her table for lunch.

Her friend Mary from her sorority group had been with her all day.  This group have become like sisters and are a good support at all times.  They know how to have fun and enjoy life too.

I am thankful for our years of friendship and prayer helps me to express the love and compassion we have felt for her.  Yes, prayer makes you aware of the poverty of your own spirit faced with the suffering of others.

We stopped at the store on the way home to buy food for lunch and even that turned out stressful.

I rested and dad went for a bike ride. A perfect day to ride in the forest  and feel close to nature.

The day ended with a conversation on the phone with Justice on this his birthday.  He was full of the joy of life after having celebrated with friends and playing basketball.

Even when we feel aware of our own frailty prayer comforts and strengthens our hearts.

Isn't it sad to see a friend dying of cancer? There really isn't much one can do except listen and take them something enticing to eat. My friend's husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cqncer and in the month he has really gone down hill quickly. It is so hard on his wife too, especially because of the travelling for doctors and treatments. I find people back away from them...so sad really when they need the support.

It is good to hear that Larry still rides his bike through the path through the park sounds lovely. Do you still go for walks through there as well? We usually walk in the 6 acres Ken own...it is an old forest and beautiful. There are many paths throughout...and we see many things and hear lots too. Like the partridge drumming or the whoof whoof soundof the ravens wings as he flies by. We walk meditatively and slowly which enhances all the senses. without talking. YOu come out and feel wonderful.

How is your garden Beth? Did you plant some annuals? Our vegetables are planted now. A friend brought us some tomato transplants so we have 17. I think we will be selling some...or we will be overrun with them!

It is a glorious day today.

Have a wonderful Sunday, filled with lots of good things

Love Nancy

Hi Nancy,
HEearing the songs of birds is wonderful.

I heard an owl this morning but could not see him.

I do not walk as far as the water-shed park but do a short walk every morning.

My garden is growing and becoming a forest, ha ha, I am fortunate to have many beautiful bushes and trees.

I am very happy for youwith the new blessings in your life!

Love Beth
