SURVIVAL

Life is precious and I believe that what we can keep alive on the inside counts.  FAITH1

Both dad and I are having pain which causes fears and tiredness.  Dad has made an appointment with the doctor which is a step in the right direction.  His feet are getting even more painful.

We have certain tasks that each one of us can do.  I will ask dad to drive me to the store today.  Otherwise he should just rest.

We are fortunate we have many things we can enjoy together, whether it is eating lunch outside or watching T.V. or going on our computer.

God loves you and me, especially when we make a mess of things, which I am good at doing.  Hos love restores and heals.  Discovering this love afresh will help me to survive.

My goodness, you and Larry have been through many challenges lately, haven't you? It must be difficult to keep a positive attitude when you have a lot of pain...it is so debilitating...I sure hope your doctors can help you with better pain control.

You really need to be proactive these days and push your problems until they listen. I have found that out with going to all Carl's appointments with him. It is not my nature to be like that...but with some doctors, in particular, one needs to speak out loudly and clearly until they listen. Our GP is great...he actually listens and does something about it!

It is great to hear you enjoy the simple things such as lunch on the deck etc....as seniors we find the simple things are the best, right?

Today will be the last of a string of beautiful summer weather, where we can keep the windows open and go for walks with our dogs...it is going to be hot for the next week or so...I am going to have to arrange a venue for the adult art workshop on Saturday because my sunroom will be too hot and the class is large. We are painting a fall scene with birch trees...lots of drawing on this one.
Bella, Max and I had a good walk yesterday until a large almost grown retriever pup wouldn't let us walk....I think it was lost and latched on to us and kept getting tangled in the leashes and would even lay down on them...my dogs were not happy and Max backed up and his collar came off and there were tons of cars on the highway...so we moved to the ditch and were covered in tons of fish flies....finally I yelled enough at the pup and it stopped bothering my dogs but followed us.
I brought my dogs home and went back with a leash..hoping to bring it here to read it's tag and call it's owners...but it was gone. It's owners were letting it run free and I think it chased deer and got lost....

The foot care nurse is coming soon to do Carl's toenails. must run and get a few things done!

I hope you both feel better soon,

Love Nancy

Mom, having home delivery is always an option don't forget. The service is there for people like you and dad, so why not use it?

How did your physio go?

Do you have your follow up appointment yet with the cast clinic?

At least it is cooler now and much easier to sleep at night. Plus Randy has been on days so home at night.

Maybe dad could ask for a referal to this lady in White Rock. She does the same thing Dr Hershel did for me. Sometimes you need to be the one asking for these things.

The phisio was hard and I had a knot of pain in my neck during the night. Got up and put ice on and took a pill. Up early and feeling better.
No cast clinic.

Hi Beth,
Carol is picking up Ben and Morgan on Friday morniong, and we are thinking of taking them to the Boundary Bay airshow on Saturday.
We just got invited by someone who owns a hangar there, so we can drive right to the hanger and watch the show from there, so grandpa won't have to walk at all. I'll call you guys later to see if you might be intetrested.
