THE NEIGHBORHOOD

This is Colebrook Church built by many small home owners in the neighborhood.  It was built in two stages over a hundred years ago.
It has been a land mark where many weddings and funerals were preformed.  It hosts many activities like a strawberry tea and a huge garage sale where neighbors bring used items and also pick up some good bargains.  There is yoga and bridge during the week.

Yes there will be worship services for another 16 months at our little church in the woods.
This is the huge mega house that is now being built next door.  There will be a huge cement wall built that has moved over into our property line.

Yes the neighborhood has changed.
It feels like the wall is a hostile statement of power and division.

We are called to love our neighbors but seeing this house and fence going up has been tough.  There has been no attempt at communication which is too bad because keeping lines of communication open is so very important.

Love is not always easy especially when one feels like you are talking to a bully!

That is so strange to see that huge house there next to the church. But then that neighbourhood has had so many changes allready that is just one of them. Just in the 5 years we have been in this house we have seen 2 very large plots of land be cleared of all the trees in and big multi family homes go up.

We got to kittens yesterday, Bonnie and Clyde. They are already 8 weeks old and we are just working on them getting use to having people touch them.
