HAPPINESS

A happy moment that reminds me of the deeper meaning of happiness! Happiness comes not by avoiding sadness but accepting it as part of life.

Well what an example we have had in what happiness is not. Being the best golfer in the world and having tons of money, a beautiful wife and child does not appear to have made Tiger Woods happy. His privacy is all shattered and his life must be hell. But he has the money to buy people off and to hire the best lawyer in town so he can tell the police to go away.

Knowing you have hurt those who love you has caused me pain in the past. We all make mistakes and we are all wounded and broken souls. We all have experienced pain in our lives.
Yes, we are all a little pecular, yes even my children at times. We all can do stupid things like forget to put lids on tight etc. etc. Then it is up to the next person who is aware of our faults to check and correct if they have the desire to do so! Different things will always be of different importance to each one of us.

Love, unconditional love, has the power to change us and redeem us. Happiness is in the small and simple things of life; a healthy loving family, good friends, a place to call home, a good book, a quiet day that follows after two busy days, finding my glasses.

Unhappiness makes us want to run away or hide in a dark corner but we know that is not the answer. I am thankful that the first candle of advent is hope. Hope returns if we are patient
and willing to see that life is full of new beginnings and yes there is a need to be reborn; or as I believe a need to experience a love that promises to always be with me. This birth is not without struggle and takes a willingness to keep seeking.

Christmas has a magic that stirs our imaginations and we can even believe in angels. Heavenly ones but also earthly ones; disguised as people. Happiness is knowing that we have tried to do our best, what we were put here for at this time in this place and for a deeper purpose than we may be able to see at his moment.
To live fully what you believe is to be happy.
