PREJUDICE

I am surprised at how much prejudice there is in the world.
I suppose we are brought up to be proud of our own nationality which is good.
I was surprised in the Novel Brick Lane how the people who left their country of Bangladesh
and come to London and are very prejudiced against other races. On T.V. there was a program where dark coloured people felt different from those of their own race who were lighter or darker in skin.
I know that in the Christian community there are great differences between the fundamentalists and the liberals. Some of this is now being blamed on Paul who even stirred up anti-Jewish feelings.
And yet inside our skin and our bodies we are all the same. Intolerance, ignorance and mistrust blinds us to our own humanity. Some how we must find the inclusive space where we listen and learn from each other.

I dont think it is so much that we are all the same, as we are all different, even if we have the same color skin, are born in the same country and go to the same church we can be very different from each other.
