HOT

A hot day for the party for Kim and Oliver.  I think it
will be cool at Carol and Panteli's.

I am up early to water the garden and the new grass.  I  take time to read from the book "Jesus Calling."
I am reminded that prayer is often a dialogue in which I express my needs to God.
and forget not only to be thankful but to listen to what He is saying to help me cope
and find strength for the day.
Haiti and I walk over to the park and it feels hot already soon it will be 33 degrees.

I miss church and especially miss hearing scripture and the meaning it has for our daily lives.

Dad does more laying of sod but soon realizes it is far too hot.

Off to the shade deck.
I spend some time on my knees not praying but cleaning up all the dirt that is delighted to come in and mess up the floor.  I believe there are two things that never happen
the kitchen free of dishes
the floor clean of dirt.

Time to rest and rest for the party at 5.  First I take some snacks out to dad.

It was a bit cooler at Carol & Pentali's, certainly a lot cooler than our house. Just two more days and then we are off.

Oh, and if you do feel like dropping by after the strawberry tea to visit the dogs, I left dads fireman ax thing out side of the shed.

Good for you Larry, working so hard on the hedge and now the sod. That is pretty heavy work and I am glad to see you taking a rest on the shade deck. My goodness that is really hot, 33C. I don't think many folks in Vancouver have air conditioning, but with global warming and hotter temps it may be something that will become popular. We have two units....we live on a sand hill and it gets mighty hot here.

I think it is coming here at the end of the week. It was so cool last night that we had to turn on the fireplace this morning...the humidity has been close to 100% and it plays havoc with my arthritis. It takes me awhile to get going in the mornings.

Nice photos of the park, Larry and the sod work. I always enjoy the photos...they give me an idea of that it is like there, when I live so far away.

We took our dogs to the groomers and went to visit Carl's cousin, Fred David. He will be 90 soon and sadly is in a nursing home.He is full care now, even has to be turned and cannot feed himself after a stroke last week. His Mother was Sophie Ateah, Carl's Father's ( Edward ) sister. Carl and Fred always have been pretty close...so it was hard for Carl to see him like that. We also visited another second cousin, Tommy Ateah. He is in good shape and we will take him out to lunch the next time.

I have an opportunity to take my art down to the gift shop at the casino, to see if they will accept some on consignent. Going to work on some things for the portfolio today. I can't do many arts and craft sales myself these days, so galleries and consignment for prints and cards is the way to go. Have to pay commission, but that is OK. At least there are sales!

Have a great day and don't work to hard or long in that heat, Larry!

Love to you both,
Nancy
