JOURNIES

Panteli is texting Carol and we have a chat.

This is the man you call if you need a ride to the airport or a ride home from the airport.  Driving through the fog, not always knowing just where he is,  he always found  his way.  I think he had a trip every day last week.  Sunday night he drove again this time to pick up Kim.

Grandpa certainly appreciates this act of kindness that he is unable to do anymore.

This time of year many people are travelling to be home with loved ones for Christmas.

Panteli leaves Wed. night to return to help Carol get ready for the arrival of the family.  I know that they will have a joyous celebration just being together.

We are looking forward to Mary and Stephen and Shawna and Cameron and Shandel arriving with little ones to brighten up our celebration.

Hopefully Rick is healthy enough to come.  Hopefully we will see Craig and Leah and Ophelia.

It is time to take a journey into the past with the words of scripture remembering Mary and Joseph also journeyed on a donkey to the safe place of the birth of their son Jesus.

Cameron and Shandel are not coming this year. Leah and Craig are not coming Christmas day but will be coming Christmas Eve to see Santa and visit. You and Dad are of course welcome to come.

I am half a mind to do the turkey that day, Tasha and Justice are coming as well.

I will be there!

Good for Pentali for doing all that driving.

The presents are on their way to Lucas in Trinidad. Ranu says she will send something for Ophelia. Christmas card on the way to Manningtree Parade.

Love,

Rick

PS No internet at home now, until the new owners arrive upstairs sometime in the New Year. They seem like a friendly couple, round about my age.

Thanks for coming over to Tsawwassen and for the lovely lunch. It was sunny all day, but by the time I went to pick up Kim, it was really foggy! If I go into Surrey on wednesday, I might drop by, either way I'll phone!

good for Panteli...making the airport runs now. Sorry to hear Larry isn't up to doing it anymore...but things happen, don't they? Carl just drives around the beach now.

Was Kim visiting Hamlet? Where does he live? In the USA?

Christmas is going to be a wonderful time over at Sandra's house! Lots of people coming.

Once again, nice photos on your blogs, Beth. I am behind in them...been sick with a chest cold...but beginning to feel better now with the aid of some antibotics. I usually get bronchitis and sure didn't want it to turn into pneumonia.

Well I have delayed finishing my cleaning long enough...gotta get crackin'.

Have a great day, you two!

Love Nancy

We have had overnight snow and there are lots of deer coming through our yard, checking out the bird feeders for fallen seeds. There is a mother and her fawn who wait at my window for me to throw out an apple each for them. They are spoiled. Her fawn was a late comer last summer...and it is quite small. Hoping she makes it through the winter...I think she will as lots of people feed them including our neighbours, who are our niece and nephew.
He was here this morning plowing our drive way for us...

Carl isn't feeling well today and I am hoping he isn't coming down with a bug. he is scheduled for the infusion on Thursday and you have to be healthy to receive it. It not an easy drug for people to take.

We decided not to buy gifts, once again this year. We will put the money towards a donation to the Mennonite Central committee. 100% goes to poor people throughout the world. some of the people donate their time...often a year to help others.

Often they are doctors and lawyers and accountants.

I remember a friend of mine did that and he said they created a bank for the poor people to loan money from to start their own business's. It was in Nicaragua...in Central America and he said it was very successful. All the entrepreneurs needed for a chance and they gave it to them.

There is a large Mennonite population in Manitoba...many are farmers. And many of the previous generations went through very hard times in Eastern Germany and Russia. They are hard working and successful people. I went to school in Winnipeg with quite a few Mennonite kids. I taught quite a few piano and theory lessons as well...they are very musical.

How is the new drug helping Larry? Does it alleviate a lot of his painful feet? I sure hope so.

How are you feeling Beth? Has your walking improved and you can walk farther now? It seems as though you are...when you talk about meeting and walking with friends. I hope so!

Nancy it is a worry about the animals with all you cold weather.

I hope Carl is better today.

That infusion must be a big help with pain for him.

Larry is not thinking the meds. help
but he is out putting out Christmas lights
and does not complain too much about his feet.

Me, I have another bladder infection
and it is an effort to go for a walk
but I just have to rest after.

Kim and Haiti are coming again today and they are great fun.
Kim makes lunch for us all.

We are fortunate that is for sure.
