FUTURE

Dad and Spenser wait for me to catch on the walk around the park by Sandra's

We always feel very loved when we spend time with our family.
When we visit in their homes or by phone or by my blog.

We started out our day yesterday looking forward to spending time with Carol and Panteli and Kim.
We are thankful for the warm welcome and good food.  Food for our body and food for our soul.

First we had to visit the eye doctor to listen to what will take place when he has catarack surgery.
We left home at 2:30 to be ontime for a 3 o'clock surgery.  We arrived right on time.  Dad was allowed to go in and wait in the waiting room.  Spenser and I sat out in the car.  He watches out the windows to see when dad will come.

It was a long wait and it was after 4 before he got called in and came and invited me to listen too.
It would be a quick surgery but there are always things that may go wrong.  It is important to follow the instructions we have received.  The main thing is not to touch the eye after or it may become infected.  The place was empty by the time Dr. Tam came to talk to us.  One eye is done at a time and dad's eye lid on the other eye will have to be fixed before it can be done.

We enjoyed our supper and all to soon it was time to head home.

We had just turned onto the freeway when dad felt pain in his chest.  The pain got worse and he started to feel nauseated.  We  were both frightened.  Dad knew if it got worse he would have to go to the hospital.  He started to look for places to stop.  I would take over the driving.

As quickly as it came it left.  He believes it is his heart.  I believe a change of diet is import.  Less fat and smaller meals.  More salads and less fish and chips.

The future is in our hands as well as the doctor's hands that will do the surgery on his eye.

Prayer is very important as we face our future together.

I have faced my difficult times by putting my life in the hands of the One Being who is the source of all life and every breath we take.  We find courage and strength renewed daily and some times moment by moment.

I would strongly recommend that when dad phones his eye doctor about the time of the surgery he tells her about this pain and his extreme tiredness.

He does not want to and says we will see.

Well, just like strokes can be proceeded by little strokes, so can heart attacks be proceeded by little heart attacks.

Regardless of the eye doctor, I think Dad should DEFINITELY talk to a doctor or the ER about this incident. The sooner the better.

Love,

Rick

Oh dear, that is not good to hear, Beth...Larry should go ASAP and have that episode of chest pain checked out...Men are very stubborn when it comes to things like this, but if Carl had listened to me and let me take him to his doctor when he was so ill, he could be alive today.
He had a bowel blockage and infection and was very ill by the time I called the ambulance. Our sons tried to talk him into letting them take him for days too...but NO. Carl died of Sepsis and had many surgeries over the month he was in ICU...it was awful.

So please Larry have that checked out!

Just going to make lunch but wanted to comment now. hope to comment again later on.

LOVE the photo of Larry and Spenser...both are cute!

Love Nancy

I know I am always thinking I am having heart attacks, but just stress. Dad your situation sounds more like the real thing so time to dive into the mire of doctors and maybe emergency room?

Let us know what happens.

Thanks to all of you.

Carol has driven dad to the hospital
I was not allowed to enter.

I expect he will be there at least over-night.
So sad not to be with him,

Love Beth
