A happy kim celebrates another birthday.
How many we are not sure
do you say 34 or this is the 35 year?
Nicole and Theresa make it a fun time.
Sandra and Randy drive us there and join in.
The table is loaded with great food
and enjoyed by all.
Kim struggles to cut her ice cream gluten free cake.
It is hilarious,
Hamlet joins us on skype!
a new shelf has been added to the patio.
A very busy day for Carol and Sandra and Randy and ourselves.
We drive to White Rock to visit dad's eye doctor who will be doing catarack surgery in the near future. Covid 19 rules are in effect. Only one person can go in at a time. I wait in the car with Spenser. He is finished in quick time. Usually even a small procedure drags on especially when you are waiting.
We stop at Art Naps to pick up Kim's present. Just a small gift of more spices for her garden and a happy apron. She says it is just what she wanted.
A quick walk with Spenser before we leave for the party. Happy to jump in the back seat of Sandra's car. Spenser barking as we leave "why can't I go?"
I wear my new dress.
The duck is back in the middle of the street. Randy drives carefully around it.
I try to down load my pictures when I get home but fail to do it. I am much too tired to keep doing it.
It is good to celebrate, to enjoy good food, good company and hilarious laughter.
Good to see Nicole again.

That is the trouble with ice-cream cakes: you need to have them thawed just enough so you can cut them, but not so thawed that they really start to melt.
I suppose we should be careful with these largish family gatherings because of covid.
Very nice photographs.
It is nice that Nancy has her laptop back. I always like to read her "Manitoba messages". :)
So the silly duck is now in the middle of the street? Well, I don't see how it will last long now. Not all drivers are as careful as Randy!
Good thing that the appointment with the eye-doctor didn't involve too much waiting.
The kidney clinic wanted me to get more blood tests, which have already been completed. I've looked at them on-line this morning and a few seem high/low but nothing really seems too alarming to me.
Another Zoom type job interview on Tuesday.
Everybody seems to becoming interested in gardening.
Love,
Rick
Hi Rick,
I hope you have an appointment soon.
Such a worry.
I am glad you are getting the results yourself.
Carol gave me a hug but no one else did.
Dad is off to get his blood checked for his prostate cancer docor.
We are back back appointments that were cancelled.

I have to say I was a little surprised to see an outsider there. I thought it was only going to be our bubble. It is always nice to get out and if it wasn't work night we could have stayed longer.
Busy day learning today, and then tomorrow I do another all day seminar to learn other stuff. I hope my brain appreciates all this learning I do just to keep it robust and functioning. I should really do some of the same for my body. Oh well.
One more day then the weekend!
Sandra
Sounds like a fun busy day for you all. Watching the news and america is going back words with covid 19 cases!! We have one suspected case in a school in Sydney. USA 19,000 new cases !!!

Yes it was a busy day, but it flew by so fast. I guess Nicola and me eating cheezes out of the same bowl wan't such a great idea!
It was funny having Hamlet there, (as a little guy, on a little phone, getting propped up all over the place, on the table)
Love to hear all the laughter!

Happy BIRTHDAY TO Kimberly. Thank you for the call Grandma and Grandpa. It was lovely to hear. I am busy with school and we are excited as next week we are allowed part time on campus to separate us. It will be a new learning experience and I'm sure more enjoyable being in person.
It is very hot here today. Cameron set up our ac unit to keep us cool. He has a long weekend ahead from using up a personal day on Monday. I hope we can get out for a big walk on a forest trail. I am trying my hardest to complete my homework to open up the weekend. I will do my best to keep up with your blog. Thank you for the reminder. I'll add it to computer favorites.xox
Thanks Shandel
I know you have been busy studying.
We love to hear how you both are doing.
Grandpa has a very sore back because he fell riding his bike.
We are staying home more like we are told to do.
I hope you get to have a good walk together.
I am taking Spenser out now that the rain has stopped.

Please wish Kim a belated Happy Birthday from her cousins at VB. The girls look so beautiful...all three of them! Family gatherings are allowed in Manitoba now too, and it is so good to be able to see family isn't it? We have a great grandbaby visiting from Cold Lake Alberta...going to see her soon. She is just so darned cute. 8 months old.
Cataract surgery is so easy. No pain and you are in and out in no time at all. Putting in the eye drops is a bit of a pain, because there are three different kinds and you have to put them in about three times a day for weeks. But it is well worth it. I have my eye prescription on my lenses so don't need to wear glasses unless it is for reading. Glasses really bother me. they never seem to fit properly.
It is Rhubarb season here and I picked a lot today at Ken's house. We will dig it up and bring it to our garden here. It is a lovely variety. So tomorrow is making muffins and rhubarb crisp.
Manitoba has been doing so well with low numbers of the Covoid virus...but we are getting concerned here at the beach because so many visitors are pouring into the beach now from all over. they are supposed to self quarantine for two weeks but there are lots of complaints of people not doing that.
I am concerned about going to pick up mail as many of them are here for the summer now and have their mail sent here. Just imagine how many people put there hand on the door of the post office ....there are 400 boxes for permanent residents and many extra seasonal boxes. Ken usually goes to pick up the mail now. I have an autoimmune disease and am on prednisone which lowers the immune system too. I am not overly concerned about the virus, but with the influ x of 5,000 summer people to a 7 sq mile rural municipality I am going to stay home.
I don't think the cottage owners and visitors from the USA are going to be able to come this summer. There are quite a few of them from the states as well as the UK and Europe. I have art students from overseas...
It is the same thing at our local stores...we went to get gas the line up was was too long....the store parking lot was full so we came home. The store actually ran out of gas.
Ken and I are homebodies anyway...but I will still teach art classes to small groups of people I know. Have to make money to pay the taxes
I am off to take Pedro for a walk...have to battle with the mosquitoes...they are really bad. I will cut a switch and that will take care of them.
I really enjoy what the family writes in your blog too Beth...good to be back and I plan on reading and writing daily.
Love to all,
Nancy
