SECURITY

Yes 62 years ago our first child was born.
It was a happy and exciting event.
It was also a little scary.
Would I know how to deal with this wee one.
I want him to feel secure as well as happy.

I want him to be healthy as well as happy.
I want to protect him from any bad things that could happen to him
We would have a lot to learn.
We would have to be brave as we took on this responsibility.
We feel very anxious as he is facing serious health concerns.

Happy birthday Rick.  We love you.

I remember in our other house we had a long driveway and after having several break ins we put a gate at the top of the driveway.  We did feel more secure.

Yesterday  dad and I did some work in the yard.did some work in the yard.
By night we both had sore backs.

Spenser looks clean and a lot smaller after his hair cut.
                                                He smells good too!

Life is about making good choices and putting our heart and mind and soul into all we do each day.

                                              Spenser before haircut.visits the neighbors.

A first child is scary! I was quite young and didn't have a clue! But thankfully I had the most wonderful Mother in Law and she taught me everything I know! Childcare, cooking and looking after the house and family.
You must have done a good job Beth and Larry because you have a fine Son! I do hope his health problems are solved and he can feel better again. Happy Birthday to Rick!

I will tell you a funny story! I was a city girl and in my teens! Yes we had a cottage here but I definitely wasn't a country girl!
So my husband, Carl was a country boy, born and raised at VB. We were newly married and lived in a little house here at VB before Carl joined the police department in Winnipeg.
Carl loved to hunt and he brought home a deer. Something new to me too...venison. I had a roast in a large pot on the cook stove...now we had NO running water and a very small kitchen in an old house. The pump was a block away.
My dear mother in law came to visit and looked in the pot to see what was cooking and said, in her sweet way, my dear you need to take ALL the fur off before you cook it! Well I had tried! AND then there was the time I burnt the boiled eggs...YUP BUT I did learn how to be a pretty good cook.

Doesn't Spenser look handsome...he is a pretty dog isn't he? Grey and white? They are such good company aren't they? We love Pedro! he has such a funny name doesn't he? The people who owned the kennel where we got him were very French. They pronounced his name with a rolled R. And they spoke French to him as well! I can speak French to him but the rolled R...uh uh! lol

We are in an endless heat wave. Very good for the gardens and ours is looking fabulous. thanks to Ken and his green thumb. He loves it and he loves picking berries...more Saskatoons again today. They are so darned good. I will make a saskatoon crumble for dessert with Splenda. Ken has to watch his sugars.

I wish you a good day...hope that you can get your trees cut or trimmed and your house painted..it costs so darn much for upkeep on houses these days.

Love to you both,
nancy

Happy Birthday Rick!

Always so lovely when the pups come back from being groomed. Daisy's incision is still healing and taking longer then her others from previous surgery. Might be the location. We have had rain rain rain the last month. Hoping for some July heat! Its summer after all. Have a great day

Sounds like a busy day as usual for you. Does Spencer feel better, no more getting up in the middle of the night?

Quiet here last night with no kittens around. We will be done now till September.

To all.

I think dad is too tired to make decisions.

He thinks he has a bladder infection now.

He has his eye examen today.

We may go to the emergency too.
if he feels worse with the bladder problems.
I want him to phone the doctor but . . .

Hope Jasmine's test for celiac goes well.

Hope Rick gets more news about his tiredness and shortness of breath.
Maybe C.O.P.
Having more tests.

I think he is 63 not 62. O well!

Thanks for such a sweet posting Mom. I'm afraid I have been struggling just to keep my strength up and do some work. I didn't check your blog. Sorry about that.

Actually, it was 63 years ago, but who is counting?

Love,

Rick
