A TOUGH DAY FOR DAD.

Carol takes the bandage off dad's eye.

This was the worst of all the things he has had done to his eye.  The lid looks very sore.

There is a stitch that is lifting up the lid which is very uncomfortable.
Very very sore and painful. He is lying down with a cold cloth now after taking a Tylenol 3.   thing some difficult days ahead.  Right now he is very tired and sleeping.
He gets the stitches taken out on Monday in the Surrey Office.

Carol did a good job driving.  We appreciate the fact both girls were willing depending on the time of the operation.

Thanks Carol.

Thanks for the three doctors who did the procedure.

I hope this is the last time dad has to go through that. Let the healing begin!

No fun for you and Spencer having to wait and worry either.

oooh my, poor Larry, that does look nasty. Was it a cataract operation with more to it? I wasn't bruised like that. I feel so sorry for Larry, it must be very uncomfortable for him. Big hugs Larry and Big hugs to you Beth. Having to wait would be awful too..not knowing what was happening. I guess with the Covoid virus only the necessary people are allowed in.
Heal quickly Larry.

There is a big sign on the door of our doctors clinic that says only those with appointments are allowed in. ken and I went yesterday. My heart tests came back excellent...am I relieved. It is the drug prednisone that is causing the weakness and shortness of breath etc.
Ken's test results were excellent too...we were so glad. We are starting our third year together and we plan on spending many more! Life is so good for us after many difficult years with our marriages.

You are so fortunate to have such a caring and kind family...they are always there for you when you need them. But I don't need to tell you this, I am sure you know!
I have friends who are childless and now that they are in the senior years they really regret not having children...it was their choice not to.

The garden is keeping us busy...Ken brings in lots of different veggies each day. Our snow peas are finished, darn. They are so good...but the beans are coming on gang busters. We freeze them every evening after dinner. There will be lots for the wintertime and boy are they good! We have given some away to friends. The cabbages are so good too...stir fried or in cabbage rolls.
WE are growing lots of squash..probably too much. zucchini, butternut and acorn. The acorn only have male flowers so there aren't any squash set yet,. but the others are doing well too. I said to Ken, I may have to to down to the gate where the parking lot is and sell veggies!
Ken is going to add in four more beds next year...that will increase the garden by 50%. WE will plant successive veggies, like the peas and broccoli and lettuce etc.

There was a huge tornado last evening in southern manitoba and it took the lives of two youth who were in a car and another fellow is in critical condition. WE were lucky here and only had a thunderstorm at 5am. Poor Pedro was terriifed and shaking and pacing.

How has your summer been. Beth? Ours has been one of the best ever for sun and hot weather. Really good for the gardens and the cottagers...but we are not fond of the heat. Especially the humidity like we had yesterday.

Have a great day and I hope Larry is able to watch the hockey this evening,
take care and lots of love sent your way,
Nancy
