PROMISES.

Today promises to be warm and sunny.
I will take Spenser for a short walk.
Dad will help me put my eye drops in.
He brought home some beautiful red roses last night
.
Dad knew it had been a scary day for me.

Nice to get a letter from Mary and the children in the mail yesterday.

I believed the promise that I would see better.  Right now both eyes are blurry.   do not know why the other eye is poor.  I am wearing glasses all the time.  I am having a hard time seeing .

Yes I am so happy the surrgery is done.  The nurse who took care of me was a beautiful and kind person.  All the nurses in the place worked verry well together and were very cheerful.

Dr. Tam is quiet spoken and kind.  She tells you what she is doing every step of the way.  /s sheet is put over your eyes and a hole is open where she removes the film.  She knows I am anxious.  She had made a point to tell me all that could go wrong.  I think she stressed it a little too much.

Anxiety crushes the spirit and energy out of our souls.

I feel that my life has been blessedh having a czring and loving family.
I am thankful for the life we pour into each other's life.

Thankful Pentali will make us supper to-night..

Hi Beth, Finally I can write you on my desk top computer! that is the only way I can post my thoughts...often I write and try to post and cannot on my phone or ipad.

so very glad that your surgery is over...I do hope that your vision is more clear today. We always had a follow up visit with our surgeon the next day with an eye test. I hope they were able to do that for you.

I am surprised at how lenient the BC government is with folks. We are under code red now due to all the idiots...excuse me...but people are just not listening to the health guidlines...they are breaking them all the time, so our numbers are out of control.
You cannot have anyone in your yard or home unless they live there. All restaurants are take out only. this has been in effect for two weeks now and will be until the end of May and likely longer. Due to the high fire danger all back roads are closed as are hiking trails and many parks.
People have no where to go and they are coming to the beach..our beach too, in hords.
cottagers are told not to go unless is it essential travel...well we are overun to the point that the gas stations our here are out of gas half the time and the cottagers are crowded with way too many people when there should be none. it is toomuch for the police to handle.
WE had 336 cases of covid today and have averaged about 450 a day for the last week.
The reserves have high case loads and the contacts are not staying home. The reserve closed to us is locked down where no one can leave the reserve except on special days when they can do essential shopping..like one day a week. they do have store on the reserve.
How are things there? Are the case numbers down a lot?

How are you and Larry managing? You would miss Rick. I see that you are having lots of meals made and invitations out to eat as well...that is so nice of your caring family to take such good care of you.

Have you had the second shot for Covid yet? WE will likely get ours early in June.

Well, we are gardening today and Ken has been working hard so I had better get my act in gear and help him! We don't have the seasonal water yet...our municipality is behind in getting it up and running so we cannot water yet. We have a shallow well and it serves the house well and is very soft water, but it isn't enough to water the garden. So I hope they get it up and running soon,

Have a wonderful day,
Love, Nancy

Hello all. Hope all is well, did you have any symptoms as to why you guys were tested for covid? Get the results yet?

Hope all is well, sorry haven’t been conversing as much as I’d like too, no excuse really. Hope all is well.

It is nice to see the comments from Nancy-Lou. It seems we have it easier here in BC than they do in Manitoba.

And nice to hear from Craig.

I am glad you had the surgery on your eye. I imagine it will take some time for your eyes to work normally again.

That reminds me: did I leave my eye-patch at your place? I can't seem to find it here. I am often, without thinking about it, closing my left-eye.

I go to see the general practitioner doctor tomorrow. He is another chap from South Africa. I have been taking my blood pressure pills consistently, so he will be happy about that.

My feet are hot and sometimes cold. I am a bit of a wreck.

Love,

Rick

So does that mean you are able to put pictures on again? Why do you have the patch on during the day? Have you got them x-ray yet on the knee?

The same rules have to be followed.

I will get my knee ex-rayed today.

How is your vision today Beth? I am hoping a lot better. I guess you got the eye patch off the morning after your surgery and they tested your vision. How was is? Mine was really good, I was lucky. Be sure to do the drops as they say..in the right order and the right amount at the right time. it is very tricky. i found keeping a chart and recording what I did helped a lot.

I am so sorry to hear that Rick isn't doing well...that must be a difficult challenge to one who has been so active. I hope that things will improve with time. Are you doing physio Rick?
One sure never knows what is around the next corner do they?I hope your doctor can give you some good help with things.

Can you go without your glasses now Beth? Many people can. I had astigmatism and bought two lens for my eyes with my prescription on them so my eyesight is 20/20. They put them on when they did the cataract surgery. So I don't wear glasses except to read, but find that I wear them quite often...

It is threatening rain, but I don't think we will receive any today and there are so many wild fires in the province. we have out fingers crossed that one doesnt start near us. All fires were caused by people. It seems with Covid people are much more irresponsible and cranky. I think people are burned out with all the rules and regulations but if we don't want a fourth wave they had better comply. of course those of us who received the vaccination will be ok.

Well it is lunch time and I have to go and put something together for us.

Tomorrow we are off to the BIG commercial greenhouse and I am sure looking forward to that!
They sell wholesale to Home Depot and Walmart and have a retail store too...lots of interesting things there that you don't see in the smaller places.\

The first Jets playoff game is tonight. GO JETS

Wishing you both a wonderful day today filled with good things,
take care,
Love Nancy

Only people with astigmatism can do that.
