HOPE

I have turned my computer off three times to try and get it to work.  Maybe it does not like the cold weather.  The wind added a real chill to my walk with Haiti this morning.  Kim dropped her off for a visit.  She was very stubborn wanting to go to the park but the sidewalks are not cleared off so we just went around the block.

Dad did some more carpentry work on his table.  He likes sawing and hammering.  He also shovel the driveway a bit more.  Our street is pretty good with only a few icy spots where I go extremely carefully.

Haiti is being bad wanting a bot of dad's sandwich.

"The authentically hopeful Christmas spirit has not looked away from the darkness, but straight into it.  The true victorious Christmas spirit does not look away from death, but directly into it,
Advent begins in the dark."  - H. Rutledge

It was interesting yesterday as we disgust the sadness of those who had lost their husbands but were very hopeful.  The pain had not gone away but had dulled.  I admire these dear older ladies and their spirit.

I had to do that with my computer this week too. Maybe there was some updates happening or something.

I did not walk Peanut last night, just did not want to slip and slide in the dark. I will wait till it is a bit lighter before I head out this morning. Oh, and Peanut will be 14 on Christmas day Nancy Lou.

Are you and dad still going to be good to come on Sunday with this weather? The parking is underground and so you will not have to go on slippery sidewalks at least.

Randy has one more shift tonight and then he will be off for the weekend.

OH my, Peanut does very well for 14! Must be the good care she receives from Sandra and Randy. A Christmas Day girl. Glad you both played it safe and stayed off those icy sidewalks and roads.

It sounds like the family has something special planned for Sunday...well underground parking sure comes in handy in this weather. We try and get the underground parking at one of the Winnipeg hospitals.....it is a lot less walking for Carl as well. He cannot walk very far. Sometimes I have to get an orderly to push him in a wheel chair...I cannot do it...it is far too heavy.

The ladies from your study group look very nice.... I bet you have some very interesting discussion, Beth. I used to enjoy ours very much.

We are checking the road reports and plan on going to Selkirk to do some grocery shopping. They were poor yesterday with cars in the ditch. There was a lot of lake effect snow and icy roads.

It is cold this morning. -16 and the birds are gathering around the waterbowl, where the temperature is above freezing. I plugged in the car last night and hope it works...the car is a new car for us and has not been thru a winter with us yet. We have new winter tires, so that is reassuring.

Have a great day,
Love, Nancy

Snow is magical stuff beloved by children but not quite so well received by those of us on the other end of the scale who appreciate the beauty but have some trouble dealing with the practicalities.Geof is coming home today and l am very glad that Susan has offered to pick him up as the snow is getting serious. All good wishes and love .
