ONE BY ONE

All that is left in one little sock!
Ken's kangaroo will keep it safe because it is a little too small for me.  Ophelia has one tooth now!

One by one everyone left and the house seemed so quiet.  What a great family we have.

If we do it again I would have some one some one come and clean the house before and maybe help moved a few chairs or things.  I am happy we did it and it turn out so well with all the help!

I followed Ophelia around and missed out on a lot of the conversation.

But Craig told me a story from his work.   He went to the rescue of a lady who had thrown rocks to break her car window to let the dog out.  The dog was a friend's dog who has just died and she was on the way to the funeral.  Natural she was very distraught.  Craig would be the right person to help her!

One by one new flowers are blooming while others die off.  The natural cycle of life!

One by one I am reading about the religious writers over the centuries.  Most interesting.

Different perspectives and different passions.  From the Poet Parson to the Rebel with a cause they add to the understanding of what Christianity has become today.

One by one dad and I will go visiting.  We visited Vera in hospital today and she was her bright and cheerful self.  To-morrow dad visits the eye doctor and we may visit Doug in White Rock.

I was thinking of getting a cleaner to come in before everyone arrives in 2 weeks. Just moving furniture around is usually enough to keep me busy.

That s a good idea to put the sock in the kangaroo, now you just need to remember it.

One by one....they folded up their tents and silently stole away. Now who wrote that poem? hmmm must google it I guess, Your one by one comment made me think of it.

Did the dog die because of being overheated in a car? Goodness that makes me so sad. How can people do that? I know little children have been left in hot cars and died too....awful.

I hung the budgies cage in the sunroom where the windows are all open and they are very quiet listening to all the birds outdoors. They are out of the strong sun, but right by a window. I do have an elderly cat, gilbert, who isn't much interested in the budgies. He is not feeling very well and sleeps a lot of the time. He likes to sit out on the deck chair in the sun too. He has his own little"cubby" that I made for him out of a small storage box and a pillow.

The stores and the parking lot are gearing up for the big onslaught of summer visitors. Just another 10 days and look out..people will be coming out of the bush all over the place.
Elk Island is just north of Victoria Beach and it is actually larger than our little Island...of victoria Beach. ( It used to be called Little Elk Island until some city slickers came and started a summer cottage area and named all the streets after his family. I know some people think that they were named after Queen Victoria's family...but I guess this chap did the same thing. I prefer Little Elk Island....as it was named many years ago ...probably by the Cour de Bois....La Verandre often camped here.

Elk Island is only accessible by foot when the lake is really low and you can walk over there with the water only being up to your knees on a sand bar. But now, there are a lot of people who go over there during the summer, to pick berries and hike. But they often leave garbage around and are carelss. Not all people, but it is rather sad to see. There are sea doos, boats, wind surfers, etc.

Well I had better get back outside and finish the last of the gardening.

Nice to read your blog Beth...thanks for taking the time to write and post for us to read.

Love, Nancy

Rick the soak belonged to Ophelia.

Nancy the dog did not die and the lady was very distraught
when she realized she had closed and locked the door by mistake.
She was frantic to get him out so she broke the window.
Craig came to the rescue and a new window was put in.

You live in a beautiful place Nancy but it is sad when people
do not respect the people who live there and the wilderness

Thanks for writing guys.

Love Beth
