SEIZE THE DAY!

The sun is coming out and I am feeling good.  I take time to enjoy the beauty of the sky as well as the garden.
Dad and I spend time making a little path.  Dad does prune an inch or two more than I like.  Our neighbor Tod comes over to reassure me it will grow back.  Dad works very hard and even cuts the grass after,  Later I will cut the other side but first a nap and a trip to Milestones.

It is easier to feel confident on a sunny day when the temperature is just right.

Mix in a bit of humor and a few of dad's stories and the day goes by quickly.

Making moments into memories.

"When you are grateful for the undeserved beauty of a cloudless day you're praying."

That was a good story about the dog that kept barking at the man who took the pills.

I'll have to visit and see how the garden is developing. I like my new car, but I'm finding the new car payment is cutting into finances a bit more than I was expecting.

My landlord use to cut the large amount of grass on this property with a riding lawn mower. His family and I can't figure out how to get that riding lawn mower to work, so I rented a conventional lawn mower and did enough mowing so the house doesn't look abandoned. May is the month where the grass really grows around here. By late June/July usually the heat and lack of rain means everything stops growing.

Love,

Rick

Me too, Beth! i seized the day and did a lot in the garden. Trying to stay in the shade and wearing a hat. i am not supposed to get sun on the skin graft.

Good for you and Larry getting out in the garden and pruning and cutting the grass. You flowers look fabulous. They are so colourful and lush. I guess you are having to cut the grass often as we are here too.

Summer weather arrived with a terribly hot day yesterday. it felt like a blast furnace. 35C and the pollen from the Jack Pine trees flew all over...covering the car and even in the dogs outside drinking bowl. Today was a nice relief and I did a lot in the garden. Nearly done planting.

We lost a young cousin last night. We don't know how she died, but feel terrible for her family. She was a student of mine, a piano student about 20 years ago. Beautiful girl. blonde hair and wide set blue eyes. That is the 5th family member to die since
Feb. Another funeral to go to. Her Great Grandmother was Freda Jonsson ( Ateah ) in case any of the Ateah family out there want to know. her name was Shae Jonsson, Greg Jonsson's daughter.

We have lots of wood ticks this year. I pulled on off Bella's nose today...and it was getting large. I missed it in the tick checks because she has tight curly fur and they hide.

Well it was another lovely day out, wasn't it? Here and at the coast too!

Have a good evening,
Love Nancy
