ESCAPE

The sun was shining on our journey to Ladner to return our recorder.

An escape back into time where we often used to go just walking and looking around.
I even worked in the Hospital Thrift Store many many years ago.  Lots of fun!
It was an exceptional day for a drive with the blue sky and fluffy white clouds.

We drove around Ladner and stopped in a tiny coffee shop for coffee and goodies.  They even had gluten free ones.  Ladner is such a quaint town but dads feet were too sore to walk around.  I will do lots of walking with Ken when he arrives.

To-morrow we are going to go back to the store where we have gift certificates for in Tsawwassen.  We forgot to take them to-day.  It gives us an excuse to go for another drive to-morrow.

I want to get back getting out more.
I walked to the store and back to-day.
A little step with big steps.

Many of my wants in life our simple'
Each day a new beginning.
We make ourselves happy by making others happy!

Just think how much more you could do if do had a scooter to drive around. It would be like being young again, not having to limit everything because of his feet.

Saw Dr Noltes locus yesterday. He has no idea why my shoulder has gotten so much worse. He gave me anti inflammation pills and that helped, but now I notice where the real issue is. I have made an appointment with Dr Notle for when he is back.

It was a lovely day yesterday with the sun out. I got to stare at the mountains for a long time as traffic was crazy on 176th going home. We started taking that route instead of 152nd when going to White Rock but I think it is no better now even though it has much less lights.

I am working at work today, and I do have eggs for you.

Oh yes, a scooter is liberating. I have a friend who declined a scooter for a long time. But he was forced to use one when he became too weak to walk to his cottage in the driving restricted area. Once he got used to it he loved it. he even drove it over to our house to have coffee with us, which was a good mile and a half away. I do hope Larry tries one out...they have a loaner to rent to see if you like it.
Just think of all the things you can do, that you are restricted from doing now!

Gosh I hope Sandra's shoulder improves. I had what they called a frozen shoulder and it was very painful. I took vit E and it did help a lot, but there was a lot of damage done and the bicep muscle has atrophied. My arm is weak now. But I use my left arm a lot more now...for cleaning..such as bathtubs..walls and for vacuuming...etc. It is amazing how we can adapt. I hope Sandra can get the help she needs so it doesn't atrophy as well.

haha I figured if I hid upstairs for a while, Carl would get up and do the dishes and he is! YAY. He is pretty good at doing them now. Our son is too.

I am glad you had a nice sunny day with some puffy clouds...there aren't too many of them this time of year, at the coast.

I am busy with my art classes, making lists, doing drawings and lesson plans. I really enjoy it. I am going to add another workshop where we will learn how to use Masa paper to paint on. It is a Japanese rice paper and we wet it and wrinkle it up, then unwrinkle and paste it on another paper and paint. The paint seeps into the cracks and creates a stained glass look. Our subject will be hollyhocks,,,which I love. It is a long class because there is a lot of technique to do. For more advanced artists. some of my students are art teachers and they like to come for the advanced workshops and get new ideas.
YUP I LOVE to teach! Even at almost 74...I can still find the energy.

I am so glad that you and Larry got out for a nice ride. It does us a lot of good to get out for a ride and a walk about. tommorrow I am going to Pine Falls with our son. He has to go to the pharmacy and I have to do a small grocery shopping. The best part of going there is the bakery. They make delicious pecan loaves....mmmmtoasted they are awesome.

Tuesday Carl has an appointment at the dental college at the U of Manitoba . We are going to try it out...or should I clarify that...HE is going to try it out. He needs a lot of work done. I don't think I need any. Hope not!

Well I am going to go and watch some of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey. They are first in their division. Pretty exciting!

Have a lovely evening and a good sleep,

Love, Nancy
