TRAILBLAZERS

Be a trail blazer!  To choose one's attitude in any given circumstances, is to choose one's own way.   Victor Frankl

Some of the trails in the forest are very difficult to follow and it is more of an adventure if you wander off the main trails and feel like you are blazing the way into an unexplored part of the woods.

I suppose each one of us is a trailblazer in our own ways.  Bringing new life into the world is certainly one way and discovering the potential that we each possess to make life an adventure is another.

Jesus was calling his followers to become more than followers but to be trailblazers of a new and deeper way of seeing the majesty and mystery of God and the powerful influence He has to intoxicate life with fresh insight.  Religion is now breaking out of the mold of the theological definitions of the past.  It is hard for me to break out of that mold.

It has taken centuries of study and research to translate  the words of Jesus that redefine what it means to be human.  We are limited by our own experiences and understandings and our inability to put them into words.

Wed. was my Bible study day and our group delights at looking for answers in new ways; but we all struggle to put words to exactly what and how we believe.  Yesterday we shared how difficult it can be to share your faith.  I am fortunate I can do it through this blog which I hope will help people think and make up their own minds.

We were pleased to have Cathy from across the street drop by because we were concerned about their dog Murphy.  Jeff has been walking alone and we were fearing the worse.  It seems Murphy had an operation on his leg so has not been able to walk but he is recovering well.

Dad had a busy day getting bags of dirt and compost and new flooring for the patio.  It is good to have things to do, and there are a lot of things needing fixing around the house.  I have some running around to do today so glad I can be driving again!

Wasn't it Paul who was big about sending people out to send the message? Jesus was too busy fighting with the Pharisees and priests to worry about stuff like that. Indeed, with a few dubious exceptions, Jesus showed very little interest in what was to happen after his death, which didn't slow Paul and the later popes and so on from holding forth on that angle.

Very good you are driving again.

Love,

Rick

It will be a very hard weekend for me to study, I am just hoping the easiest chapters were saved for last? Sandra
