HUMOROUS

Nancy I love your title :
"the Nature Nut of the East Beaches.|"
I have not found it yet but will
get Larry on the search.

Kept the doctor's appointment light
hearted but standing firm on what
I wanted.

He is from South Africa and  with pictures of elephants and tigers etc.  I comment those did not frighten me put  up a mouse and I would be out of there.

He was in totally agreement with getting the blood work done before the appointment.

He also was okay with getting another shoulder x-ray.

I went to the blood clinic first thing because there are always line ups.  I was 45 minutes early so was first in line.   My legs were shaking and I was feeling faint standing outside for so long.

Home again now and will have some coffee and toast.

are too busy driving taxi cabs or cutting hair."

Why were you standing outside for so long, Beth? I know you wanted to be first and sure don't blame you...
Shaky legs and weak...that doesn't seem right.....you shouldn't have to stand that long.
They should have chairs for you or take a number so you can go and sit down somewhere. Our lab is in the hospital so we can sit and wait...take a number. The last time they took two babies ahead of everyone and it was a looong wait...like 45 minutes and I had to go out and put in $5 for another hour parking...already it was $10 for two hours...( for the doctor's appointment).

The East Beaches Nature Nut is on wordpress.com. I have written two blogs so far and have aonther one in mind. I won't write daily...but often. I have received some good comments...so will continue.

Hearing about your doctor being from South Africa sounded just like mine, with all the photos of lions and rhinos on the wall. They are good doctors...Dr. Lambrechts has his office on the reserve...Sagkeeng. I always meet interesting people when waiting to see him...end up having some good converstations and some good laughs. The native peoples are always laughing and joking around. The pharmacy is there too and the prices are the cheapest around.

Speaking of mice...the little devils are back in our van...just a couple of mice poops and some torn candy papers....so now what to do? I just cannot go through another time of making a claim...each time costs $200 deductible and I have already paid $400. Plus being without the van for a month....I am almost to the point of selling the van and getting a smaller car. I think the mice are also in the shop....so going to have to give it a thorough cleaning too. I am not afraid of them...it was the chicken in the house that really gave me a start! haha.
one poor lady had a mouse crawl up her pant leg when she was driving...can you imagine that Beth? YEOW!

Good for Kim, working with children this summer. That is very rewarding. It will be good for all of you to have a break when she moves to her mom's. I am sure you will miss Haiti though! Have you thought of fostering a small dog for a rescue? It would just be temporary....nothing to tie you down for long.

Gosh I don't know how Ken handles those shifts and a family of small children...not easy that is for sure! He does very well. I got a kick out of the kids crawling into bed with him...

We are bracing for more snow....yup....over the weekend. It was sooo cold this morning. -15 with a brisk wind. brrrrr. I went to Pine Falls to pick up a few grocerie...the Winnipeg River is opening up...so surprised to see that, but the sun is very strong now. Beautiful drive through the reserve.

Wishing you a good day....be sure and not overdo things!

Love, Nancy

Still looking for the Nature Nut!

The blood clinic is terribly busy and opens at 7:30 but by 7 a huge line starts to form. We do take numbers but the wait inside is very long and there is not enough sitting.

Later in the morning went to have my arm x-rayed at Jim Patterson.
Called by Sandra and Randy's. He was home slaving away with new orders
from Sandra.
she was at a luncheon banquet getting an award for her studies. I think.

Sorry about your mice troubles. We have skunks skunking around here.

Wishing you warmer weather. we are so fortunate.

Supper outside.

Love Beth

Copy and paste into your browser......
I guess there are so many who fast and need blood work done early. Have you tried going later in the afternoon?

Wow, hasn't Sandra done well in her studies. Please pass on my congratulations on her award.

We have two skunks too and they are skunking around and better not get in the fenced back yard with the dogs or I will be pretty upset. I am thinking two skunks will make for about 6 more in a couple of months.

That Randy sure is a handy fellow isn't he?

Enjoy your supper outside..

Love, Nancy

That is good you were able to get all your blood work and tests done. Sorry I missed you guys. Got a bit confused and could not find the Fairmont, but then I found another lost lady and we tried three places but finally got the right one. Seems lot of people had the same problem. Then a group of us were going to travel back together on the skytrain. We were so busy talking we just walked onto the first train, then we started to think it was the wrong one, so I jumped off but then the doors closed on them! Oh well. Randy did a great job getting a start on the pergula, had to quit when his drill battery died.
