I went for a short walk after doing house work and dad went for a bike ride after doing his puzzles and reading the paper.
It was too cool to do much in the yard. The funny thing about working at a project the last few steps are hard to get back to doing.
This is our back yard which is more like a patio.
It was a good decision to move into this home. Not too small but not too big. Room enough for all the family to descend upon us bringing new life and energy. They help us cook and also clean up so it is all fun. Just like old times and I am happy with the memories.
This is also a good neighborhood where neighbors become good friends.

My appointment it is 3, so maybe I will come before or after, see how the day is going.
I was able to get a bit of gardening in this morning before work. Of course that left me no time to throw a lunch together, but gardening is food for the soul and sometimes is just more important.
It is so nice to see little birds hopping around the new garden and bees buzzing around the flowers. I have not had any butterflies. I wonder if the winter and spring we had was detrimental to them. I know we have way fewer bunnies.
Sandra
that's my kind of day too Beth! Just happy to be at home with no where to go! The best kind of day.
When did you move into your home? It is a beautiful home. It makes me think of the old saying, Home is Where the Heart is.
Have you always lived in Delta?
I think I told you my Great Aunt lived on 120A street....in Surrey, but that was many years ago...in the 1970's.
I don't think it is a good district now is it? She was in her 90's and boarded with a couple who were Quakers. Good people.
Before that she lived in Dublin Ave in New West and we visited her every year. Having such a small family we were very close.
Today we watched the afternoon baseball game (TO BlueJays ) and I tackled cleaning the beast, as i call the huge walk in shower we had put in for Carl. It has a seat in it for him too. But it takes a lot of effort to clean it. I got it done! Cleaned the bathroom as well so we are good now for a few days.
Our son, Bob is moving from the house he built for he and his wife, Melodie about 25 years ago. It is a hard move for him as he has so many memories of Melodie there plus a lot of her things still.
Our other son, Mark, got a speeding ticket driving through a school zone in Winnipeg. it is one of those automatic photo radar cameras.
Now the problem is...it is the owner of the vehicle who has to pay the fine and he was driving his Dad's car.
I don't believe that is fair...I think it is against human rights to make the car owner pay the fine and I believe that the photo radar cameras are illegal. I wish my Father were still alive and he could take it to court! He was a good court room lawyer.
If it was an actual policeman giving the ticket, fine...because the speeder will be the one getting the ticket.
I may call the human right commission and see what their thoughts are. Actually i have a friend who is a specialist in cases like this and I may just ask him too! come to think of it!
Bob came for supper and I always love to see him. I made him veggie burgers and home fries...that is homemade fries in the over with olive oil. Banana pudding for dessert. he is a good eater! Which always makes us mom's happy, right?
Haha the most elegant interiors are slightly tatty! so true and that is where I feel the most at home. My house definitely has some tatty things in it! I don't hold much to the idea of all new and fancy.
The parking lot opened today....and the cottage area in the beach closes at midnnight tonight. Most cottagers bring in what they need to by car, groceries etc in advance of the beach closing and then choose to park and walk to their cabin. there are taxis as well. our nephew Kevin Ateah runs the parking lot and he has our Toyota van now and is using it for taxis. he replaced the seized motor. He said we can borrow it anytime...which is great!
Beth do you have Iris in your garden? They grow very well hear. i think they like the sandy soil that we have living on this sand hill. They are so beautiful at this time of year. My peonies are also blooming...not as much as other years, but my goodness they are so pretty.
Well that is another screed so better post it before the gremlins get ahold of it and make it disappear.
Have a great evening,
Love, nancy
Nancy you sound like areal fighter
and the person driving should get the ticket I agree.
I think we fought one ticket and won but that is very
unusual.
A sad time for your son Bob.
Yes I have Iris have I not put a picture on?
They were beautiful this year but all done now.
Let us know when you are coming Sandra.
We may want to go out or we may not.
Love mom
