SIGNIFICANT

A significant day for us to attend Ben's soccer game.
It was cold and rainy  and this picture is from far away behind a bar wire fence.
Dad and I had put n several layers of clothes.  The walk was long for us but also having to move the car from a no parking area to one you had to pay for parking was stressful especially for dad.

Ben's team won 1 to 0.
Ben making several brilliant saves.
As soon as we got home dad was feeling dizzy and was losing his balance.
I wanted to take Tasha several books on Celiac but dad was not up to going over to Sandra and Randy's.  So Theresa picked me up.
Theresa picked me up and I had a good visit hearing about their busy lives.
A significant time to compare notes.
It was significant because we shared from our hearts our real pain and anxieties.

I felt unsure about leaving dad and what I should have done was let Theresa pick up the books and take them over.  I am not much help because I have forgotten a lot of things.

Dad was in bed resting when Sandra drove me home.
I was glad to be home.

We are watching a little bit of T..V. then we both will be early to bed.

Why should you have stayed home, dad does not need your help to rest, and you were supportive to Tasha just because you have been through what she is going through now.

Randy had words with his dad after we called and talked to his case worker there in Ontario. It is not that he can not afford to live places, rather he makes too much money to get assistance. He admitted to Randy he lied because he just wanted to be with his kids. Randy will take a while to cool down and then maybe try talking to him again. Randy called his dad's sister who also lives there and found out she just has been moved into a home as well.

I hope you guys have warmed up after being out in the cold yesterday and are taking it easy.

Yes Sandra
I wanted to be supportive.

Sorry about Randy and his dad.

Us old fogies can be a worry.

Dad is better today, not dizzy
but his legs are weak.

Yes we are very nice and warm.
when the heat is turned up.

Very cold wind trying to get in.

Love mon

Gosh, I am surprised they would have the soccer game outdoors in the rain and cold. You would get chilled just standing there watching even if you had layers of clothes on. Hope you both are ok. Just look at Ben...how tall he is and those long limbs would serve him well being a goalie. You were supportive of him.

I am glad that you were able to go to Sandra's and see Tasha as well as the other family who were there. It is so good to see family...does the heart good, doesn't it? The Bennett family have some beautiful women...just look at Theresa and Tasha...nice photo, Beth.

I had lunch with my Sons today and it was so nice to be out with them. It doesn't happen too often when all three of us can get together. Carl stayed home to be here for the roofers and to take care of the dogs in case they were worried about all the noise etc. But they were fine. They are very easy going and being seniors now, ( they will be 10 soon) they sleep a lot.

I was glad to hear that Larry felt better the next day...it is worrisome when we are dizzy and weak. Best to go to bed!

We bumped into two cousins in the bakeshop...one just arriving from Ottawa to visit his Mom who is 91. Had a couple of hugs and off we all went, separate ways. I think they will come out for a visit before they go home. Nice to see them. they are the family that is doubly related to Carl. always very close to us.

We too, like it warm in the house and bought a quartz heater a few years ago and it is great. It sits in front of us, as we watch the telly and it heats the area we are sitting in so we can keep the heat down otherwise. Our electricity bill is close to $200 a month, but it includes our electric heat. Baseboard heat. I heard Manitoba has one of the cheapest electricity in all of Canada...probably because we have quite a few large hyrdo dams.

That is too bad that Randy's Father is having problems with his living arrangements and care.
I think we all just want to stay in our home and keep on living the way we always have...but we will get to the age where we will have to make decisions and leave our homes...one day. I can see it coming for us, because it is getting hard for me to do everything that a home requires. We can hire, but not much because we cannot afford to. So we take it month to month. I am thin

Here in Manitoba the home care and the nursing homes are pretty good, but we need more of them. Especially in rural areas. The nearest nursing home from here is 25 minutes and it is hard to get in there due to there not being many spaces. They take your old age pension to pay for the nursing home and just leave you a little for sundry items.

Have a lovely evening,

Love, Nancy

ps...wow 33C in Melbourne...now that is pretty hot. Is it humid as well? Good to hear that Ken's family are all well now.
