MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Dad and I drove out to visit Jane and Geof in Langley.  They were extremely delighted to see us.  Se try to go from the bottom suite up to theirs by the stairway but got locked in at both ends.  We finally found an emergency door in the basement area where the workman were walking in and out from outside. I was able to take her a small container of flowers.

They are well settled in but so small compared to their old spacious family home.  Jane is exhausted but as she gets more energy maybe she will be able get out and that will help.  Geof puts on a good front but is not happy either.  They both miss their friends.

I pray that one day she will be able to greet each new day with renewed hope and courage so that at the end of the day she will have found more things to be thankful for than what she has lost and in her thankfulness find peace and new direction.

Today dad and I will take milkshakes to Jim and Howard!

I am so thankful that we can still bring joy into the lives of others and thankful we made it out to see Jane and Geof.  Mission accomplished!

I think it is so wonderful how you are always visiting and taking things to people to make them happy. Even if you are greeted with some un happy people. you never let that stop you. and you know what i bet each and every person really looks forward to your visits no matter what they may say! you are one of the most kind hearted full spirited gals.

Yes, Shandel radiates warmth and caring in her writings on your blog. I too, enjoy reading the joy she brings! I totally agree with her regarding the kindness you both have for others...you both are amazing people. She expresses it much better than I!

I have a friend who is suffering a terrible depression after losing her mum. I suggested volunteering to her and hope she will go to the nursing home or the school to volunteer...how could one be depressed then! Or helping out at the adult day care here. The rewards of volunteering are many.
You two need a 'distinguished service medal'!

Carl is exhausted today, from all the walking in Winnipeg yesterday. He is sleeping in his chair. The dogs and I will go for a walk later today. I am working up to the usual 40 minute daily walk. We will have to walk along the highway as the roads are too icy and rutted still. Can't wait for it to melt. Winnipeg is almost all melted, but we always are way behind in spring and it works the same in the fall...way behind, so we have a prolonged fall.

Have a great day,love,
Nancy
