Yes a lot has happened to these happy young people on the way to their future adventures together. It was good for a shy serious young girl like me to fall in love with an out going, humorous story teller like your dad!

I know I had to develop new coping skills and a lot of courage as we were faced with challenges and changes right from the beginning.  The wet foggy weather was enough to dampen my prairie spirits.
Many unplanned things happen on the way.

There have been special romantic moments and now we have our favorite moments we can recall.

There have been great emotional happy  moments with the birth of each child.
And each child was treated differently and took on certain roles.

Know what you want in life and be willing to work for it.

Know that there will be great sacrifices because love demands sacrifices.

Forgive and forget but make sure you express what you need.
I needed security and encouragement and support.

My faith became stronger during times of depression and loneliness, when life seemed hopeless.

My undiagnosed illness was hard on us both.  And yes we have had our disagreements too.

I am thankful for a very generous and kind husband and look forward to our future together knowing every moment counts!

At church we sang the hymn "I love to tell the story (dad mumbles of U.F.O.'s) instead of Jesus and his love.  I laughed.

We enjoyed a special lunch when we got home all shopped for and prepared beautifully by Kim.  It was also good to have Sandra join us and we caught up on happenings in each other's life.  Then off to Book study with our friends who we have not seen all summer.  Only problem was I was a week early; but not really my fault because the date had been changed so many times.

Happy Anniversary Beth and Larry! 57 years together...that is a remarkable achievement! I wish you any more happy years together.
Your words describe our journey too...married young, having many changes to adjust to and making it work...along the way trials and tribulations...but we worked through it all didn't we?

AND more exciting news...your son is coming for a visit, all the way from Australia! My goodness, you will be looking forward to that.

It is interesting to read that your faith became stronger during times of depression and loneliness.....often it works in reverse.

Are you going out for supper? Three years to 60 years.....now what anniversary is that...hmmm not diamond, I know that is 75.Maybe ruby?

I was reading that Celiac Disease is caused from all the changes they have made to the wheat, over the years. It used to be a simple wheat that was easy to digest. But they have changed the seed so much..not only genetically but other ways too. You must have suffered many long years before diagnosis.

Have a wonderful day, you two...

Love to you both,

Nancy

Have a great day

It was 58 years ago today that a young couple arrived at CYVY airport a few hours after being married in Regina.

We were both so excited and happy, looking forward to a new life together.

We started out having trouble finding a place to live. Eventually settled in a small one room basement suite, on Oak St. rented from a wonderful elderly couple. Beth got a job a few weeks later. We bought an old car. I started training in The Control Tower. Thing we looking up.
It started to rain. The car broke down. I was having a very difficult time checking out as a Controller. Beth became pregnant with a tube pregnancy - was very sick, could not begin her new job. The fog moved in for over a month. We were very homesick and unhappy.

However eventually we did survive and have had a wonderful and interesting life together, full of love, laughs, sadness, trouble, mistakes, but always the knowledge together we would always come through.
I could not imagine going through life without you, from when I could not eat before going on our first date - to right this second.

Thank you Beth for all you are.
love

Oh, and our house is available if anyone needs a room to sleep in, if Ricky decides to come down or what ever.
