BURNING BOG

Dad and I could see the big clouds of smoke as we were driving home from church.

Up to 100 fire fighters fought the blaze as well as five helicopters.

It is right across from the industrial park where Sandra works.

I have not heard the news this morning.

Off for a walk and then dad and I go to the doctor together.

Sorry, did not mean to cut you off yesterday, I was actually Skying with Shawna AND watching the news on the fire at the same time, so allready at my multi tasking limit.

My drive in to work today was wonderful, everyone is avoiding the hiway that is closed, but I could still turn off at River Road.

Not sure if we will get out for a walk though, totaly depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Yes, the fire at Burn's Bog made the news here too. They said a lot of wildlife lives there...sure hope there aren't too many who lose their lives. Sad. The smoke would be pretty toxic too. HOpe they can get it out soon.

We "dodged the bullet today" with a huge thunderstorm that just missed us..all we had were black clouds and a few rain drops with winds. There were tornado warnings with it...so glad it went away to the south east. It is very hot and humdid today...real July weather with a humidex of 37.

I hope your doctor visits went well...do you have to travel far to see him?

I was able to connect a puppy who was living on a reserve up north and needed a home with a friend of mine who runs a rescue in Winnipeg and is taking it in! So happy. Roxie ATeah's son is a forest fire fighter up north and befriended the puppy when it had no home. The puppy is so cute!

We are watching the Blue Jays....we watch most of their games. They are in third place in the American League.

Have you watched the British tv series called Hamish MacBeth? It was filmed in the 1990's and takes place in Scotland. It is much like Doc Martin....a bit of humour, mystery and colourful locals. The scenery is pretty spectacular too. Maybe you could rent it at the library. It sure makes me chuckle.

Have a lovely evening,

Love, Nancy
