SOLVER

I wish as a mom I could solve all the problems in our family, but I guess no one can do that.

I know for myself I have to appreciate what I have right now.  Family, friends and faith.  We do our best to help each other.

I know for me every day is whizzing past and all I can do is to try and set a goal at the beginning of the day that may or may not get accomplished.  Everyday is a challenge.  None of us is perfect and we certainly live in an imperfect world.

The thing I hate most is seeing suffering especially children.

The hardest thing to face is the death of your dreams.  The disciples faced that with the death of Jesus.  Jesus faced the death of his dreams as he prayed for this cup of suffering to be removed.
His death has the power to bring us life.

His life giving us clues how to live and to solve our own problems with God's help.

Yes, me too, Beth! Our family has been having some hard times as well. It is hard to not be able to whisk away the troubles, isn't it? We need a 'magic wand' don't we?
I find that one trouble is solved and another takes it's place and there isn't much we can do about it...for us or our family.

The days sure do seem to be whizzing by...remember when you were young and they seemed to be going so slowly? The whole year ahead in a grade in school seemed like forever.

Yes, the suffering of children breaks my heart as well. I do love children. Seeing them with cancer or the poor children that were shot in all the school shootings is so sad.

I have an aquaintance who thought she was in complete remission from her cancer after a stem cell transplant...but NO. She is back on chemo for the third time and may have to undergo another transplant...and they mentioned palliative care as well. She is a realtor and a lovely lady. sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. It is hard to know what to say to her too...but I hope my words brought her comfort.

Have you been out going for walks lately? The dogs cannot walk to far now...just for about 10 munites each way. they have arthritis and Max has a knee injury and Bella has always had a hard time breathing when she walks...she starts gasping for air and making awful noises.
I think her airway is very small as happens with small breeds. So I am going to start walking by myself too...try to get up to the 40 minutes a day I used to do.

I saw my Egyptian doctor yesterday and I like him very much. A doctor who actually smiles and is soft spoken and actually takes the time with you. He is at the closest clinic in Pine Falls.

As soon as he walked in he asked how is Carl? Did he have the bladder surgery?
He gave me a prescription for B12 shots and I went and got it and came back and he gave it to me. I was a little nervous because it is an intermuscular shot and once I had a tetnus shot and it was painful and bled a lot afterwards...but I didn't feel a thing this time!

Many of the medical staff at the hospital and clinic nearby are from other countries and often they are Muslim. I find the middle eastern people very warm and caring...much more so than the usual white folks.

The Ateah's love to eat...as you probably know and I find that food is a common way to to show your friends and family hospitality, to middle eastern peoples. I took my doctor some muffins from the bake shop and he was really surprised. We talked about how the middle eastern folks love to share food. I told him about Carl's Aunt Sophie who always made huge amounts of Lebanese food, even though there was just her and her son living in her house. She made Flattires, Kibbeh, Grape leaf Rolls, Riz e achani, and some I cannot remember the names of.
She owned the store right behind her house and would say to me...stop in at the house and have some Kibbeh, I made today. When she came to visit she brought enough 'lunch' for an army! That is the ATeah's!

I am supposed to be getting my art stuff packed and do my drawing for the workshop tomorrow...so better get busy! I have a pretty full class and it is a 5 hour workshop. I will be tired afterwards, but it always is so much fun.

I wish you a good day, filled with lots of happiness,

Love, Nancy

PS Have you watched the tv sereis Maigret? It is a crime mystery type and very good. The actor is the fellow who played Mr. Bean and it is such a contrasting role...but he plays it well.
