WONDER

Nature is always a source of wonder.
What is hidden becomes alive.
This is the wonder and message Easter!

I felt inspirit to do my visiting at the Seniors Home.  Dad was willing to drive me and we had lunch out after wards.  I thought I have been doing so well but I was totally exhausted after wards.  Being at home taking things slowly gave me a false sense of my abilities.

I also have discovered I ate some bagels with gluten in them.

I will do a short walk with Aneta if she phones this morning.

A very talkative friend is coming over today but I will have to insist on a short visit.

I am reading about the last days of Jesus and the stories that grew up after his death and Resurrection.

The life of Paul is one that was changed when he had a vision of the Risen Jesus.
He had what I would call a true conversion experience.

We all tell our stories in the light of our own beliefs and understanding.

I went back to Pilates on Monday and it was embarrassing how far I have digressed. Oh well, I will just have to plug along. My shoulder is a bit sore afterwards, but nothing that I do not feel I cant work through.

I hope the bagel does not give you too much distress. Are your sinuses better?

It is nice you went to the seniors home, mom. But maybe it is time to put that activity in the past?

I saw a picture on Facebook of a boy I used to play soccer with on the Mohawk Oil team that Mr. Gingell coached. He always played left wing and sent all the balls to the front of the net where I use to score all the time (all the time; in fact I scored so much I didn't even count them, which is kind of odd). David Simpson played on the team as well. Anyway, seeing this boy's name and photo brought back a lot of memories, particularly of one day (the last time I saw him) when I found Jimmy (Jimmy White was his name) sort of wandering around by Safeway in Tsawwassen when I was about 11 or maybe 12 years old. I think it must have been before we moved to Stevens Drive. 1967 or 68 I guess. Anyway, he was living in Ladner but had somehow got himself to Tsawwassen. We talked and talked and then he said he had to walk back to Ladner, so I walked with him part way. Was sort of an adventure, walking out past the highway and almost to the donkey spot. But also sad as he was moving away (at least that's what he told me.)

I wonder if you might remember him? He was a very blond haired young fellow. Very laughing and smiling all the time.

Anyway, it might have been twenty years or more since I last thought of that walk with Jimmy halfway to Ladner, but it seems I can remember it so clearly.

I have another heart test next Tuesday, then I go back to the heart doctor.

I am finding it difficult to work a full half day at work.

Love,

Rick

Good memory Rick.

I bet you never told us. Do
not remember that boy.

Too bad you are not doing any better.

Are you going to the Urgent Action Care CEnter?

Good Sandra you went to Pilates I guess.

Dad went for an hour bike ride. I am very proud of him.

My sinuses are still hurting.

Cold day today.

Love mom

My goodness Beth I think volunteering at the nursing home is just too much for you now. Maybe when you get stronger you can try again. You have been through a lot breaking your hip and it takes a lot out of us older folks!

Sorry to hear that Rick isn't well and sure hope the doctors can help him so he can get his energy back. Good luck Rick.

It was a lovely blue sky and warm sunshine day today. The temperature this afternoon was -6 but it felt so warm in the sun and I noticed there was a wee bit of grass showing through the snow on the north side of the drive-way. I took the dogs for a walk and walking into the north wind was chilly, but coming home was just fine. They love their walks and get so excited when they know wwe are going.

Do you soo much of Haiti? I know you enjoy walking with her.

Carl had his physical today and his surgery is May3rd. I am hoping they keep him overnight. Apparently they said they would send him home in the evening...but I cannot stay in the city from 7 in the morning till 7 at night and then drive home with a man just out of bladder surgery. I will call the surgeon's assistant and talk to her about it. With all Carl's risks they should keep him overnight.

I saw a photo of a little Artic fox who got in some used cooking oil up north and got covered in the oil. some kind person found him and put him on a plane for Winnipeg and he was taken to the Wildlife REscue Centre...he look so pityful. Lucky fox though to be rescued. Pure white fox.

My son, Bob and I are going into Selkirk tomorrow. I have some banking to do and so does he. Selkirk is about a 50 minute drive. We will wash the car. It is covered in salt from the icy highways. It sure will be good to have spring arrive and good driving conditions.

Good for Sandra taking pilates. If we lived in the city that is something I would love to do. That I start back with Tai Chi. I enjoyed that a lot.

Well the curling is boring tonight...a nothing game really so I will watch something on the tv box or read. I have started a new book called The Marsh King's Daughter by Elizabeth Chadwick. It is a historical fiction book that takes place in the thirteenth century. Looks good and it isn't a tome, like the last book, that took me forever to read. 408 pages.

I wish a lovely evening and a good sleep tonight,

love,
Nancy

It seems unthinkable not to.
