A SPECIAL DAY

A special day for the United Church which celebrated over 90 ears as a church which started in 1925 on June 10.

After church we drove in to deliver our hanging basket to Kim for her birthday of 32 years!

A special gift from Hamlet!

We also paid a visit to dad's grannies grave and will take in more flowers next time.  A quiet place for other special memories.

Then we met our neighbors at the small cafe the Wooden N Frog.

What a beautiful orchard from Hamlet!

A nice finish to a special day.  I wish there were quiet little places here in Surrey where it is not so noisy and the food is home cooked.  I do miss Applegate which was the sme.

Sorry Sandra and Randy have colds so did not visit us today.

"When we open our hearts and minds to love's abundance, we can transform not only our own lives, but also the lives of those around us, making the world a more just, peaceful and caring place."
-Ed Bacon.

In the morning we drive our friend Ev to the hospital for a check-up.  She did a lot for us when I was recovering.

Sounds like another busy day for you both. So Hamlet did made it out for her birthday after all.

Randy had to work this afternoon so did not do much other than some grocery shopping.

Yes we have to do some grocery shopping too.

I feel tired today but it could be the big piece of GF chocolate cake I ate.

It was good!

Lovely photos of Kim and Hamlet and the orchid...it is quite spectacular isn't it? I have a few that I have had for years and they are blooming. One is a miniature and very delicate.

We were in Winnipeg at the funeral Home doing all the final things and bringing Carl's ashes home. The funeral home is excellent. Very reasonable and no hidden charges. they even have urns for people to use who are going to sprinkle the ashes and you can return the run to them at no charge. So now it is the business end of things to tie up and then the family BBQ on Sunday and we will get back to our regular things.

Having our son living here sure helps a lot. I don't think I would like to be alone at this time. I am sure he will move to his own place in time and that is good...he has to get on with his life and not look after him Mom forever! But he sure does a good job!

Do Kim and Hamlet live nearby? This has been quite a year for Kim with her marriage and her graduation. Is she going back to university to get her teaching degree now or going to work? What hospital is Hamlet training at?

today was a real 'Vancouver day", with steady rain and mist. it was a nice change and the moisture is good for the farmers as the seedling in the fields need the moisture now. It also will help with the low water levels in the rivers and lakes. We have to watch our well water as it is a dug well and fills from an underground stream. I spread out the laundry and showers...so far so good and it has been 42 years. I know some of our neighbours wells have run dry. One only has two feet of water in it.

Well I am off to bed to read my book...I wish you a good night's sleep,

Love, Nancy

NANCY
So good of you to write during this difficult time.

Kim lives with her mom and Panteli but they are both away right now of course.

She will go to U.B.C. in the fall.

Hamlet is interning in Bakersville in the States.

He flies back and forth every other weekend.

It is hard to write sometimes at least for me.

Right now I am feeling it hard.

Love beth
