A JOURNEY INTO THE PAST

I HAVE LOADED UP MY PURSE WITH PRECIOUS ROCKS MAYBE SILVER OR GOLD AND IT GOT SO HEAVY GRANDPA CARRIED IT. LOOK HOW GOOD HE IS WALKING HE IS FINALLY DOING SO MUCH BETTER.
THE NEXT TUNNEL IN THE DISTANCE

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORLD!

ITS PRETTY DARK IN HERE - AND A LITTLE WET

ABOUT TO ENTER THE FIRST TUNNEL

AN INTERESTING HISTORY OF THE RAILROAD TUNNELS

BETH BEING VERY BRAVE BESIDE A RUSHING STREAM
tHERE WAS A VERY STEEP SLIDE DOWN TO THE RIVER WHICH I WANTED TO TAKE A PICTURE BUT WAS AFRAID TO GO CLOSER.

A BLURRY PICTURE TAKEN FROM A MOVING CAR TO SHOW SNOW ON THE MOUNTAINS.

This is the Kettle Valley Railway Tunnel that linked the Coast to the Kootenys.
Theresa told us about this place and we finally took a walk into these amazing tunnels carved out of the rocks. I wish I could have captured the heights and majesty of this rocks. The color of the water was brillant and rushed over the rocks in places.
There must have been many people of courage and determination that mined this area and craved out these tunnels. What amazing stories these rocks could tell!
I am also reading a book to guide me into the past of my faith called "How To Read the Bible". While the Bible has been my guide post I beieve that it has been misunderstood and misinterrupted. If I was to sit down with a Jewish person I would see the sords from a different perspective. The people who wrote it lived in a different culture with a different lifestyle and were unique in their idea of "God" and how He acted in their lives.
There is a strong message of needing to please this "God" because they lived in fear of a higher force that controled their lives.
Even with this fear they discover God's amazing unconditional love and if we journey into the past of their lives we meet very human people who failed and failed time and time again. I know what it is like to be afraid even as a mother I struggled with the fear of not being able to raise my children. My poor health made me tired and exhausted and I struggled alone many times making meals, doing laundry and feeding and caring for each one.
I wish I had been more verbale telling them I loved them which I am sure we never tell each other often enough we love them.
I have had to gradually respect myself and find healing in the mystery of LOVE
which stops the fear and opens me to be a more loving mother and person. So
I have journeyed into my past and found a woman who had courage and strength and compassion who tried her best to teach her children to value goodness and honesty and fairness! !
