QUIETLY

Last night dad and I meat Carol and Panteli for supper on the balcony at the Sharkie restaurant in Ladner. ( My è does not work I guess I have to turn the computer on and off.)  We were very happy not to be joining the stream of cars going out of town for the long week-end.

It was all quiet when Haiti and I stepped out the door to go for a walk.  No early morning gardeners, no early morning dog walkers, no children run around laughing at the park.

Dad and I received the news the night before that our dear neighbor Mary had pasted away.  I will miss the visits we had talking about our families.  She was always so interested in ours and always so cheerful about her situation.  Yes, it was time for her to quietly pass from this life to the next.  There will be lots of family waiting to greet her.  She had her family with her at the end.

I am not doing as much reading as I would like to be doing. always a lot to do out side and in

Every book I read seems to have some special message just for me.  Often we think that we are the only ones to feel a certain and it is so surprising to find we are not alone.  All those thoughts and feelings that go through your mind as the day goes by.

Books can almost feel like your salvation, not just because they are like friends, but words that are like a tonic for the soul and good medicine for the heart.

Dad has been working on his hedge all day and now is watching the Blues.  Ken is also watching.

I think I will find a book to read!

Quietly....hmmm well I was trying to walk quietly this morning when I walked over to my son's house to bring his dog over here. Our other son heard a very loud and apparently very large cat screaming while it was near the top of a tree in his yard. He thinks it was a cougar....he could see glimpses of it in the moonlight. We think it was looking for a mate.

I had to walk through a bush path to bring our son, Bob's dog back here...and ended up getting two large wood ticks. They are prevalent this spring.

A friend brought his little dog for a visit ....she is so cute, very tiny. We had lots of cuddles. She had a wood tick on her neck and she was such a baby getting it off.

How nice for you to have supper at a restaurant with Carol and Panteli.

Books....well I just wish I could find a good one to read....not liking the Song of the Humpback Whale. I have given up and tried again three times now and it just hasn't captured my interest.

I bought some books for my e reader over the last year or so...an older kindle and they won't load. I read online that I need to update the reader....I can read the books on kindle cloud...wherever that is.
not very happy with Amazon and Kindle. I know what you mean, though, Beth....one can get lost in a book...leaving all other thoughts behind...quite a nice feeling, right? Often the book does carry a message too. I love reading almost as much as you!

Sorry to hear of your neighbour's passing....I guess it was her time. Life whizzes by so quickly...blink and here we are in our seventies! I hope Carl's surgery goes well..it is big surgery and he is a higher risk patient.

It is unsettled today...started out hot and humid and now clouds have rolled in with a threat of the first thunderstorm of the season. We had to wash out and turn on the airconditioner.

Good for Larry tackling that large hedge. That is quite an undertaking.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday,

Love, Nancy
