TOUCHING

Craig takes a million pictures every sneeze and arm movement is recorded.  Leah does the late shift until three in the morning and Craig takes over at 5.  What a blessing for babies to be born into loving family's.  It is touching to see this family caring for each other.

Our children sure teach us a lot.

I look at Des and remember how worried her family was when she ran away from home as a teen-ager.  Now she is a wonderful mom and she shares her life with other young people.

I  was reading the story about Jesus touching the lepers and I like to think the message was for all of us that we all need to be touched and loved with kindness and with hugs!  No one should be untouchable.  There are so many sad stories in the world of children unwanted and unloved.  These stories are disturbing and leave us with many questions.

There was a story about a young native boy running away from residential school desperate to be home with his family.  He did not live to achieve this.  Our world is so very imperfect and spirits can be broken when there is no love and no touching.

All we can do is try to touch those near to us by listening and caring with words and hugs!

A good reminder to myself.

The modern day families share a lot more of the child care don't they Beth? I don't remember Carl getting up at night with the babies or sharing in much of their care. Good for Craig, helping out with Ophelia's care, especially at night. I do hope that the little one gets a good health report.

Glad to hear that Larry is doing fairly well and not having a full blown attack again.Keep up the good work with your diet Larry!

The overnight temperatures are quite cool now and we have to keep the windows closed except for the bedroom one. It is sad to see so few migratory birds compared to years ago when we would literally see hundreds of them. I fear that one day there may be no birds...and then what? They play an important part in the chain of life.
The Blue Jay are constantly at the feeder taking peanuts and hiding them on the ground...under leaves or at the base of a tree. They always mark the spot with a small stone or twig. We have 10 or so and they are large birds and very colourful this time of year.

Every one of God's creatures is welcome at our bird feeding station, Magpies and Crows ( which some people shoot ) and squirrels and chipmunks too. Even gophers. It is quite comical to watch a large crow eating on the table when a chipmunk pops out of the hole in the centre ( which is for an umbrella ) and scares the crow...he jumps about a foot! hahaha. All birds and creatures seem to respect each other and not attack.

We are off to the funeral at 12:30...along the lake at the old historic church, St. Lukes. Looking forward to lunch afterwards at The Ranch.

Have a wonderful day,

Love, Nancy

I phoned Leah and they were driving so the word I got was all is okay with Ophelia.
Good news.

We have a lot less birds here too.

Still watch the squirrels running along our fence and drinking from the pond.

Love Beth

Oh isn't that good news about Ophelia! Thanks for the update!

Do you have the large grey squirrels or the red ones or both? We have the smaller red ones, but there are some grey squirrels at the north end of the beach where there are oak trees. They are pretty bossy.

Craig seems like a natural at this parenting thing, which is great.

Are there no new posts? I guess I missed one day. We went into the city today and saw Mandi and James for lunch then went off to do a bit of shopping. It is so different to shop in the city. We drove there with out our GPS and only had to use it a bit to get our bearings when coming home. They will soon be making the big move back together again, moving into Mandi's tiny place and putting the rest of their stuff into storage.
