NEW LIFE ! !

Since I was not feeling up to church I did a second blog with pictures

A new baby brings so much love into our hearts again.
Simone listens to Auntie Carol with rapt attention.  Smile
 Too much motion

Simone wonders “where is my mom’s voice?”
Jewish thought is very much about listening to the voice of God and finding new life as the story continues.  The Old Testament calls this voice the “Torah”.  In the beginning was the oneness of God.  Out of God came the voice that had the power to create all that is.  The finally gift of creation was human life..

Jewish writers attributed to the Word of God enormous creative power, seeing it as separate but of God’s very essence.  As the sacred story continues it was believed this “word” had the power to reveal the presence of God, to call the people to a heightened sense  of self hood and to a heightened consciousness.
New life flowed into hearts that were open and responsive not simply to a external being but to an ever present reality that would journey with them.

A pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.  God was, and is, both transcendent (external) and immanent (within).  The will of God was expressed in the words of the Ten Commandments.
The Jews were destined to learn, as all people must, that God cannot be possessed, nor can the word of God ever be reduced to propositional statements.

Jesus empowered the word by living it.

Beth, I am so glad to hear that you are getting stronger and going for your early morning walks. That is great news. Also we are blessed with two blogs today. Lovely pictures, you have the eye to pick out some very interesting subject matter.
I like what Rick had to say about the book he is reading...and about religion.
Isn't it amazing how quickly that little baby, Simone has grown? She is adorable. She brings such a bright light in to your lives, Doesn't she? Take care my friend, especially on your early morning walks. Love Nancy
