WELCOME

DSCN1126
Welcome every morning with a smile.  Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday.   -Og Mandino  Good advice!

I love the street that Sandra and Randy live on now that is now full of  lots of trees with branches that come together and now with fall colours and the smell of fall is in the air!  To me it seems like an old-fashion street that loves to welcome family and friends.

Morgan is so busy finding just the right leaf to decorate the table.  More and more leaves are drifting to the earth and a acorn hits Sandra on her head.

Soon to be filled to overflowing with soup and cornmeal flat bread, chicken casserole, corn and lots of good food.  The children are happy to clear the table in expectation of chocolate cake!
While dad and Ben watch the hockey game Mary and Kim get things organized.

So happy that others like to cook!

It is no small thing just to enjoy the day together,
to have loved and been loved, to fill the hours with happiness.

I have always appreciated the gospel of John and believe that if I now read it through the lens of Jewish mysticism there is a welcoming presence that provides an open door deeper into the mystery of Jesus.  When Jewish Christians were not welcome in their own synagogues they found a new way that was set free from the cultic influence of the past

The other gospels and certainly the Old Testament were duelists which saw God and humans as opponents and the material and the spiritual as separate.  "Johannine mystical tradition, saw Jesus not as an invader from another realm but as bringing together the oneness of the human and the divine."

Dad and I have both had a good day yesterday.   We both had short  walks and dad did shopping and  put head lights in the car.

I am feeling better and wonder if I should keep the doctor's appointment that I was able to get because of the cancellation.  So no medication last night.  Well at least we can go out for lunch after.

The problems arrived with the translation of Greek thinkers and also the setting down of the Nicene creed.  God's gifts of grace move beyond the mystical lover of our souls that saves through welcoming us with joy into the Holiness of all of life.

Yes, it could be easy to forget how lucky we are to have a family to get together with. But any joy is more then doubled when it is shared, so I am so happy that you enjoy my street just as much as I do. My house is OK, my yard is ick, but I love my walks on the streets with all the big trees. Mary had a nice quiet day with just her and Simone. Randy got home early and made us all supper! What a man. Then he had to run out to Home Depot and got lost coming home in the fog. I will worry about Mary driving home for Chilliwack tonight. Sandra
