QUICKLY

The day has just gone by very quickly with Kim dropping off Haiti on her way to school.  It was raining so Haiti followed me all around the house with the expectation she and I would go for a walk.
Yes the sun did come out.

We were headed to the park when  Haiti stopped dead refusing to move.  I couldn't figure out what was the matter until I heard the fire crackers going off.  She is very frightened of the noise.

Such a happy pair!
My brother also phoned me and he described his birthday as going to the doctors and to the drugstore.  The good news was that the pills did help and he is feeling better now.

Rick has arrived driving down from Kamloops to work on Crystals case.  It has become a lot of work but he is doing a good job.

We had a quick visit with him and Kim and then it was time now for bed.

"Nobody is perfect.
As long as we continue to strive to be better
our imperfections are a part of our journey".

Good news when you get make a wrong decision like I did today.

The weather sure has been psychotic lately, going from pouring rain and wind to sunshine in a blink of an eye.

It took from 9:30 to 2:30 for the floor in the kitten room to get done. He put down two coats of levelling stuff and had to wait for it to dry. Messed up my day as I missed a vet appointment I had booked for Peanut and Missy.

It looks nice though and I am glad we got it done.

I will drop by with the eggs today.

Yes, our days have been flying by too, Beth. i am just getting caught up on your blog!

Wasn't that nice to have Haiti for the day. How old is she now? Dogs are such good company aren't they? Mine are "glued" to me and follow me where ever I go...from room to room. They are at my feet as I write.

AWe...that little pumpkin is just so cute...Ophelia. She is so tiny and yet she walks and climbs stairs! I wonder what she will think when the new baby arrives? is that in January? Gosh Lean and Craig will really be busy then...but at least Leah will have the year off. She will need it.

We had a forest fire very close to where we live on Wednesday. It always is frightening when that happens and it does happen every few years. We collected the things we needed to evacuate in a hurry...but thankfully didn't have to. The wind took the fire in a different direction away from the beaches area. They brought in the water bombers and the helicopters with the buckets. A large fire crew as well as our own fire dept. The tv stations and radio stations were all here doing interviews and taking video.

Very grateful to the quick response of the fire depts as well as conservation.

Years ago there was a forest fire nearby and they took Carl and his classmates out of school....they were in grade 9 as well as many of the local men to fight the forest fire. There was no fire dept..just a fire warden for the area. Three of them were trapped and had to burst there way through flames and sadly one of them died and the other two were badly burned.

It is a good thing you had Haiti on a leash when there was fireworks or she would have bolted. People are inconsiderate when they light off firecrackers not realizing that it upsets animals as well as people. We hear them often in the late evenings during the summer when cottagers are here and they are a danger to fire too. They are prohibited in our RM although people still light them off.

It is 20C today and yesterday it was 25C. Very unusual weather here too. it seems there are more extremes now. A little front blew through an hour ago it almost was a thunderstorm...on Oct 21.

They are predicting a colder than usual winter and snowier too...for us. Oh well, we will just stay home. I sure hope Carl doesn't have many hospital or doctor visits. He has bladder surgery again on Friday which means we have to leave in the dark...at 7am. Driving in the dark at this time of year means one has to be super observant due to the deer being in rut. There are quite a few accidents. A man swerved to miss a moose and rolled his truck into the ditch and he was killed...not long ago. Just a few miles away. They say steer straight ahead...don't swerve and if you hit it...you do! Better than rolling the vehicle.

ahhh the hazards of living in the country! But the other side of the coin is just so precious....love the country.

it is going to be another great day.....wishing you both well,

Love, Nancy
