UNIQUENESS

DSCN1619Yes it is getting colder and maybe those are snow clouds hovering over us.  These ducks are not in the Watershed Park but in a little lake near by called Boundary Park.

I now am returning to climbing Jacob's ladder because I have to finish it for our book study. The study of Mussar Jewish teaching claims that in studying and putting into practice what you have learned;  you will be able to see more clearly the priorities in your own life.

" A teacher explains a calloused condition is caused by a spiritual insensitivity from a blocked flow of our inner life."  The ego tries to protect us from the barbs of life but can also  imprison us behind a wall of fear and insecurity and the worse thing is a lack of trust.

A great man, a unique man of courage and honor,  died when Mandela died today but one can hope some of his way of looking at life and letting go of bitterness and seeing beauty in the ugliness will live on.  .Learning to trust one another.

"The journey of our transformation begins with our taking actions, for it is only we ourselves who can imitate the process of our own spiritual renewal."   The message in the story of Jonah is that when he dives into the water he is diving into the depths of his soul.. When he reaches the deepest depths he cries out to God from the pit where his soul had taken him.

Another part of opening up our souls is to not only hear but hear with your whole being.

"What is important is to be on the trip not get there."

Too easy to become set in our ways and think we know it all.  Only a  Jewish person can see and unlock some of the messages in the Old Testament.  Primitive people have primitive ideas.

"Rabbi Perr,  his teacher, believes that true and lasting changes can happen only at the deepest levels of the soul and come slowly."  It requires practice.

"Is there an end?  Is it important?  Or is it  just a wonderful thing to continue to grow!"  We all are unique and our growth progresses along different paths.  We want to be the best fullest version of the unique soul we already are and it is waiting to be uncovered.

Life is lit by the inner flame!

I was so thankful dad had supper ready when I returned from the Home.

He had a walk early before I went so he is going nearly everyday now.    Today I have a quick visit with Gundy then we are off to the library.  Have not had time to read my books but I can get them again in the New Year!

It is cold and many clouds in the sky so snow will be on it's way soon.
I am so thankful for warm underwear and warm socks!

Just went for a morning walk and it is very cold and windy. It almost feels like Canada today here in Lotus land. Carol is picking up Oliver at teh ferry terminal at 1:00 today, then the two of them are of to Chilliwack while I head into school.
