BLINDNESS April 2

The sad truth is that religion can blind us to the truth instead of opening our eyes to the Light!

"A real spiritual life. . . .makes us so alert and aware of the world around us, that all that is  and happens becomes part of our contemplation and meditation and invites us to a free and fearless response."  -Henry Nouven

The reading today was from John 9 about the man who was born blind.  Jesus had made mud and applied it to his eyes and commanded him to wash in the pool of Siloam and his eyes would be opened.

The Pharisees questioned the man and because they were spiritually blind denied the authority and power of Jesus.  Jesus could not be a godly man because he had healed on the Sabbath.

I went to church but dad is very worn out and worries about his coughing fits so he drove m but did not come in.

It was a time to say good bye to Kimiko and the service was beautiful.

We were reminded of the sacredness of the earth and that Jesus is the Light of the World.

It was good to talk to Carol on Saturday.  We miss her but are happy for her.

Been cold the last couple of days , even had the heater on. Temps are going back to the mid 20's in the next few days. Hobey booked another trip to Denmark, (Billund) to visit his girlfriend Nana. Our kids have two weeks school holiday. I was looking at going away but we have obligations here. Hope your feeling better. I am still watching the Canucks , I don't know if they are going to improve next year or not.

Now that was nice to go our for lunch in Vancouver with your family, Beth. I am glad to hear that you and Larry are getting out now and able to do things.

It would be a sad service to say goodbye to your interim minister. I wonder where she will go now? To another church?

The cabbage rolls sure disappeared in a hurry. I must have rolled over 40 and they were huge ones...i cannot be bothered to cut them in half and roll them so small. Everyone went home with some too, including our Granddaughter who will be happy to heat them up for lunch at school. She is planning on working 16 hour days again starting the beginning of May until October at the gravel pit weighing trucks and checking the quality of the new pavement they are putting down. She is 23 now and a hard working and smart young lady.
She loves her dad so much and had a good visit with him.

Today i was given the gift of a budgie bird and a large cage along with all the supplies. She is a pretty bird....white with motteled spots of grey and a turquoise chest and belly.
She had a partner, but the bird passed away last month. i will buy another one for her this week, once our car is fixed and we can go to winnipeg. I am so excited..love birds and have had them off and on all my life.

It is good to know that you both are recovering well from that bad bug. Try and stay away from sick people....I know that is hard to do...but we don't allow them in to visit if they are sick and we stay away from people who are sick in public. I have even left a restaurant.
Carl has a lowered immune system due to the biological drugs he takes for his rheumatoid arthritis. We have to be careful.

Well the second World Mens curling game is about to start and I don't want to miss that...so I wish you a good sleep and a good night,

Love Nancy
ps...Aren't Ken's kids the smartest kids getting such good marks in their tests. way to go kids!

I was able to get some spring cleaning done in the back yard while Randy slept in the morning. We then headed out with our list of 4 places to shop at. We were home by 4 and able to get a good night Skype in with Simone and Sebastien. That reminds me, did dad get the text I sent with Mary's correct address? Mary thinks you might have mailed something to their old one.

Just a week to try and get everything hooked up in the kitchen before Randy leaves next Monday. He was supposed to be on afternoons this week, but one of the other men twisted the arm of a supervisor and so Randy is on days. He is not happy since on afternoons he can work on the house all morning.

I wish I felt more like cooking but my appetite should return.

Dad rode his indoor bike yesterday.

It is a real effort to go for my walk but I keep on.

Good to hear Ken your children are doing so well.

Look after each other.
