COMMUNICATIONS

It took a very long time for this ice on our little water fall to melt
There have now been several  days of rain and strong wind!
Good job I did not take an umbrella or I would be floating away like Mary Popkins.

Now there is sunshine and also frost on the foof.

I love the way that our minister Daniel starts his talk with a story.  We all love a good story about real people and how they lived and loved.

The Bible is a book of stories as well as songs and poems and predictions that encompass all of life and especially the battle between good and evil.

This may seem like a strange Christmas story.  Evil people use the name of god to further their causes and to justify their actions.  There are false gods like the god of wealth and power that draws people in.  In this story one man stands up against an evil army and challenges them to fight not with weapons of mass  destruction but calling on the name of goodness with a prayer.

In 1Kings Elijah the prophet tells the people they are trouble makers who worship a fake, imaginary god they call Ball, who was leading them away from a loving God into selfish and hurtful deeds.  On desperation Elijah challenges them to light a fire under a bull that has been placed on an alter.
The priests dance around and shout to the heaven for fire to come down but nothing happens.
Your god must be asleep he said.
PC061012Elijah pour water on the straw before he started to pray.  Fire fell from the sky and the flames consumed it all.

"A loving God would once more reveal his glory and there would be a flaming star above the birthplace where Jesus was born."
Yes there is one God and he will reveal his love in different ways to different cultures with an inner flame that burns within our hearts.

 I know because I have experienced this;
 but when you are very tired and in pain
the flame is very low and can almost blow out!
I carry the memory of the goodness and joy in my heart and mind and soul.

The carpenter and his maiden is a love story!  The baby God's gift to us all reveals the power of One

Off to see the doctor in New Westminster this morning.
