THE MESSAGE

Our road out to the main road is just like a skating rink.  The trick is to go slow.

This is a picture of Joyce who is a joy to visit.  She cannot remember what happened over Christmas but I know her son and daughter did visit.  They may have taken her out but she has no memory of it.

Kim stopped by for a visit and to pick up some warm clothes that she had left here.
She is taking French so that will be a challenge.  She is good we think with languages.

Talked with Ken to wish him happy birthday.  It is hot there so they are off to the movie and supper.
He is on holidays now and it will be good if he can relax and rest for a change.

The message of Jesus was not one of offering us an escape from reality but a message of transformation.  A message to help us experience heaven here in the midst of our ordinary life.

Our road is not quite so icy, but just because it is still snowy. Peanut and I are for the most part keeping our walks shorter because of the sidewalks. I contacted the city of Surrey about 3 of the houses that have not even tried to clear them.

Goodness! That road does look slippery! If you do decide to go out walking on that you will have to be extremely careful. Oh course you already know that, but just thought I would mention it again. :) One tumble on that surface and you (or Dad) would be back in the hospital again, that's for sure!

Speaking of hospitals, I had my "MIBI" test today at the Kamloops hospital. No results yet, but I made it through the test, which I took to be a good sign!

I'm sure Leah wouldn't mind getting a few things for you from the Safeway. Give her a chance to visit and show off the baby. :)

Love,

Rick

Thanks Rick.
Glad your test is over and you feel it went okay.

We have lots of food right now but I know Leah and others
would be helpful. We would love to see Ophelia.

Ken is also having some tests. Good to do.

I am careful just walking around the block.

We went to dinner before the movie. The place was empty at 4:15 pm. It was a late lunch for us. Matthew drank two huge glasses of ice water then vomited up his dinner. ☹️ We saw Moana. The theatre was full, lots of screaming kids and πŸ‘Ά babies. I just went to sleep!!
Hot one today , Saturday and Sunday. I have the big fan set up to watch Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ beat the USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ in hockey. We picked up a small cake on the way home and the kids , Melina and Nona sang happy πŸŽ‰. We (Melina and kids ) have been watching the twilight movies. We only have the last one to watch tonight. Matthew is really upset when Bella kisses Edward in front of Jacob!!

Haha, laughing at Ken saying the theatre was full of noisy and kids and he fell asleep. Only a really tired Daddy can do that! Well done Ken.

Joyce looks like a sweet little old lady! Having no memory is sad though, because when we are older those are often wonderful memories for us to look back upon.

YIKES that is one hockey rink for a street. Please be careful. I assume the sidewalks would be much the same and you sure don't want to fall. Better stay home!

Considering all the snow storms and blizzards we have had this winter, Winnipeg has done an exceptional job on the main streets. They aren't scraped down to the pavement yet, but pretty good.
The side streets are awful. Full of frozen ruts and you bounce around all over the place and it is hard to keep control of the car. So I stayed off them as much as I could.

It was a very cold day, with a wind chill of -38 in the morning. I got chilled loading up the car with the groceries and then again carrying them in to the house when we arrived home.
The car drove well and was really warm. This is our first winter with the car so I wasn't sure what to expect. I am glad that we have the errands done and can stay home now!

What a disappointment to see the Gold Medal Junior World hockey game decided on a shoot out. I think it should have been a sudden death overtime along with a lot of other folks.

Have a lovely day....hope you stay home too and hope that ice melts soon,

Love, Nancy

WEll the Christmas season is now over .lt is twelfth night and we have taken the tree down and put away the ornaments for another year. We are comparatively lucky here compared to Surrey and the Winnipeg areas we have a dusting of snow on the lawns but the sidewalks and roads are clear at present.l did a big shopping yesterday anticipating more storms this weekend. Susan has been up at Whistler for a few days skiing. We have happy memories of times spent there particularly Geof who loved time on the slopes .l preferred apres ski.
What a nice picture of Joyce Brock-such a feisty lady so sorry to hear her memory is failing her so badly. Kiera has invited us over for dim sum tomorrow but it all depends on the weather. lt may have to be postponed. My cousin Elzabeth has just left after a late lunch helping us devour an enormous pot of soupIts now time for a bit of a nap. All good wishes, Jane.
