TOUGH

You really have to be tough to take on getting older.  If it is not one thing it is something else but we know we are not alone.

Dad and I went to see his prostate doctor a very nice young man.  He laughed when dad said he agreed to take the hormone treatment because he was all ready to give a big speech about his advice on doing this.  I go in with dad because we find we do not always hear or understand what the doctor has said.  It is important to have some quality of life even at our age.

The worst thing was coming out and finding we had a ticket on our car.  It would appear it was put on the car when dad was inside the hospital buying the ticket.  We had managed to get back in what we thought was time only to find the ticket already there.  Dad may fight it.

We dropped by to see Leah and Ophelia on the way home she was fast asleep when we arrived.  She woke up and I was able to feed her.  The two dogs Molly and Sophie were excited to see us.

I had a walk with Haiti before we left and we just got home and where heating up the shepherds pie that Leah had prepared for us, when Panteli arrived to have a quick visit and take Haiti home.  We thought she may be having a sleep over.

So even tough words that we know we need to hear can play a part in our healing!

I went for a test yesterday, an ultrasound. And have a prostate ultrasound next Tuesday. Then the Dr complies all my recent test and decides what is the go with my prostate. day off yesterday. I came home and had a sleep as I did not sleep well last night,I had to get up and watch some Tv at 2am as I couldn't breath with reflux. I am taking less and less of the pariet but I also need to watch h what and when I eat.

Drat, that reminds me my stuff just ran out.

I guess maybe I did miss a day or two. Sorry, it is my busy time add at work and then they went and decided to start covering MSP and update our RRSP plan.

Ophelia has gone home. I took her for a good long walk and she slept most of the way. All in all she did very well, I was just overly optimistic that I would be able to get any work done.

Ken, I have a hiatus hernia...which gives me acid reflux I am not sure if that is why you have acid reflux, but I find an instant solution is taking a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar in half a glass of water. If it is really bad I add in some baking soda...works like a charm and the apple cider vinegar isn't that bad as long a it is mixed with water.

Boy truer words were never spoken Beth, one sure does have to be tough when we start getting older.
It does seem as though it is one thing after another. Sorry to hear Ken is having prostate problems, it seems once men hit the fifties it happens. Our son does too. Good luck Larry and Ken.

Isn't Ophelia getting big? I saw a picture of Randy holding her and she is so cute. A lovely photo. It will be fun watching her grow quickly....crawling and walking and talking.

Today was like a Vancouver day, with rain and fog. We drove in to Selkirk and it reminded me of the weather out there. It was very messy with puddles and mud and salt all mixed up. I stopped in at the Casino and sold some of my art to the gift shop. No original paintings but prints and cards. They don't carry original paintings because they are too high priced and would 't sell.

Tomorrow is piano lessons and art class day and I really look forward to seeing my students. We will finish the painting of the Manigotogan River.

One of my students Mom and Dad came from jehovah Witness families, who broke away from them and are being shunned. They broke away years ago.
I have become good friends over the last couple of years and they think of me as a mom and grandmother.
I really feel badly for the mom...she suffered a lot of abuse in a previous marriage that was arranged to an older man. She was very young. She misses her mom very much.
That is religion at it's worst.

No Jets hockey tonight....they brought their old goalie up from the minors and he is doing great.

Have a lovely evenin,
Love, Nancy

Ken
Hope you get some answers and really listen to the doctor
and any other advice you can.

The apple sider vinegar is good I agree.

We try to eat a big meal early in the day but that
does not always happen.

Love mom

I tried the apple cider vinegar a few years ago and it made the reflux worse. I have a hernia as well. I just need to lose weight and the pressure on my stomach will reduce . I have been on PPI for about 10 years now. Maybe just Old age.
Thanks Mary Lou.
