BECOMING

Ophelia comes for a visit and shows how she is soon going to be becoming the crawler.
What a nice surprise to see Leah and Craig waiting for us when we come back from the Senior's Home.  They have had a busy week-end working Leah saved a man's life before the medics could get there.

Ophelia certainly was the center of our attention but started to peter out towards the end.

There is a story in my book about a poor child who was not doing well in school.
He was on the way to becoming a failure with the death of his mother.
All the children brought gifts to ring to the teacher at Christmas.
His was wrapped in old newspaper and when she opened it there was a broken bracelet and a small jar of used perfume.  The teacher paused for a moment and then put on the bracelet and dabbed on some perfume.  She said what a lovely smell and the other children all agreed.

The gifts were his mother's treasures and both the teacher and the small boy were changed by her simple act of acceptance that may him feel very proud of himself and she was humbled by the gift and would encourage him to try harder and he did.

This is from the book Seven Laws of the Learner.

As parents who have tried to teach our children the value of their worth this is a reminder that even little acts and words are important.

Thank you Leah for the stew you brought over for us.

Even as we age weare in the process of becoming exactly like who we were meant to be.

Always nice to have Ophelia drop by, and even better if her parents bring food with them!

I forgot to mention, shall we do something for Mothers day on Saturday or Sunday? What other plans do you have? Where is your favorite place, is it Milestones?
