THE FUTURE

Today I had a bone density test to find out the strength of my bones,.  It is a simple test and everyone was so kind and considerate.  Dad could not find me when he arrived at the waiting area because he was putting money in the meter.  He had the lady check to make sure I was the one who  had gone in for the test.  We have ended up waiting in the wrong places in the past but this time we ended up right where we were meant to be.

I do wonder if our future will be able to feel like this.

We had planned to eat out but the traffic was horrible and also dad's eye got more painful as the day went on.  I think that we often fear the worse especially as we get older, especially when we are in pain.  Right now he is resting after removing an eye lash.  Anything in your eye can be very painful.

We did enjoy some lunch out on our back patio.

We are looking forward to Carol's arrival and Morgan's dance recital Sat. night and the family get together at Sandra and Randy's.  Randy has worked hard to get the pool in good shape for the first swim of the year.

The future for the next while looks great!

I can not sleep in ever either. It is more work trying to keep my eyes closed and forcing my self to stay in bed rather than just getting up and getting at it.

I hope dads eye is better after resting the night.

DId he still want the sand?

The future...well I sure hope that things slow down around here and I can get back to reading your blog on a daily basis and writing a reply. so sorry that I have been absent the last few days. every day this past week I have been driving to hospitals. Tests, doctor visits and even the vets. good grief charlie brown that is enough already!

Well i caught up on your blog posts, Beth and see you and Larry have been kept busy too.
I hope the results from your bone density tests go well and you have strong bones. it seems we need them as we get older and can easily take a tumble.

So far the skin graft is doing well.
I am very nervous about doing the dressing changes myself.
One has to be so careful about everything being sterile.
I drop things and fumble around and then have to sterilize my hands again and throw out dressings.
Now if I lived in the city the nurse would come to my home and do it. It is arranged now for me to go to our nearest hospital and have it done there every second day. But that means travelling for 60 kms. It begins on Monday, so in the meantime I have to do it. I am paranoid because I don't want to have to go through that again. it was no fun!

What lovely photos of Ophelia and her Leah and Craig. she looks like such a tiny little girl. My goodness she is growing up so fast...almost walking? When is her birthday?

Did Sandra keep one the kittens? What about the MOM? Have the rest of the kittens gone to homes?

Max had dental surgery at the vets on Wednesday and it was so hard to leave him there. he is 9 now and a senior and his gums and teeth were in bad shape. he had 13 teeth extracted. he has most of his back ones so he can still chew. Apparently they don't use the front teeth very much. They gave us a deal through our local animal shelter and it cost almost $900. But if we didn't have it done it was very hard on max...he wasn't well with all the infection so there really wasn't a choice.

it must be very frustrating to not sleep well. i am a good sleeper and these last two weeks have really played me out so i sleep like the dead! hahaha

Gosh those early morning shifts for Ken must be very hard...3am? Especially when you have little kids. It is a good thing you are made of good stuff.

There are quite a few fox around the beach. One cottager said they steal their flip flops from their deck and she actually had a photo of one with a flip flop in her mouth. I guess that means the many rabbits we had this spring will be dwindling quickly. Ahhh nature! a fine balance.

How is your garden doing Beth? Do you have any photos? it must be so beautiful at this time of year. I always admired the different plants that can grow out there.

I went to the greenhouse after I picked Carl up from his colonoscopy yesterday. The greenhouse is run by Hutterites and has lovely plants, but they are pricey. i didn't buy much, but but picked up some magenta portulaca and some bacopa which is a white small flower that will cascade down the side of the large brown pot. Also a couple of tomato plants and cucumber plants. That was my treat for a hard week!

I hope Larry's eyes feel better! Not much more annoying than having something in them.

Have a lovely evening,
Love Nancy

Nancy so good of you to write.

I would be scared taking the bandages off too.

Sandra picked up another kitten abandoned by mom.

I think Ophelia is about nine months old.

Larry's eye is a bit better today for our drive to Chilliwack.

My garden is doing well.

I will take a picture,

Love beth
