BRAVE

I am sure dad and I told our children "You just have to be brave"
That is easy to say but not so easy to do.

Yes, dad and I will put on a brave face when Ava and Jeff and little Uhri come for a visit in the morning.

Thankfully I am feeling a little better this morning but dad is not.  He usually perks up with visitors!

It is easy to reach a point of disbelief.
Why belief?
why pray?
Pain gets stronger and weakens our little faith.
In my grief and despair I cry out "Where is God?  Why dad? Why us?

Where is God?  He is with those in need.  We weeps seeing the sick children dying in hospital and he weeps over the youth lost in their worlds of loneliness and pain and drug addiction.  He weeps at the violence and death of the innocent.

He weeps for us all and yet he offers hope that is found always in love.

Create beauty where there is ugliness.  Comfort others who are in pain and you will be comforted.

Bring love into the empty hearts that are near by us all.

Be brave!

Enjoy celebrating New Year's Eve at Sandra and Randy's!
Face the New Year with a brave heart that God is giving to us!

The family , or some of it came over for news years . It was about 38c until 9pm then the temp dropped to a reasonable 27c. Nona even got her shawl on as she claimed she was cold ( only after Matthew squirted her with cold water) we cooked heats of meat on the BBQ lots left over as we caterer end for 20 and only 10 showed. Jesse let off a few fireworks. Plenty of fire works around. Rocky the dog went nuts from about 8pm until I took him to bed at 2am. He hates fireworks. Our little pool is great for a cool off.
Happy New Years to you all .

So sorry to hear you both are feeing poorly...It must be frustrating for you to have pain and to be feeling so badly. It causes depression, which in itself is incapacitating.

I send wishes for a New Year filled with improved health....lots of help from your doctors to solve your health issues. Be sure to be proactive and push for answers and if some treatments aren't working ask for a different approach. Some doctors today just seem so complacent, not wanting to touch us and not following through on things. I hear this all the time from friends...

We are very lucky to have an excellent doctor who takes as much time as he needs to be very thorough...he is the head of internal medicine at one of the large teaching hospitals in Winnipeg and has great contacts for referring us.
Carl saw him Wed and Thursday he phoned with the test results...fluid in his pleura again...and arranged for him to have it drawn off. It is an out patient procedure. Pleurisy...which he has had before. He often calls us at home to see how we are...can you believe it? He has ordered a nuclear scan of his heart too.

I pray for better times for you and Larry. I send you courage and strength to get through all this.

I am making cabbage rolls and perogies for New Year's Day supper and our family will all be here. Our Granddaughter took her Dad out for New Year's eve...so cute!
He doesn't get out often! So I had better get busy in the kitchen

Are you going out for New Year's supper?

Love, Nancy
