WHY?

P1081391
Here I thought cartoons were just making fun of life.  They are so outrageous they make us  laugh but I certainly do not take them seriously.  Christianity has been made fun of ever since Eve listened to the snake and talked Adam into biting into the apple.

Why are there more and more violent acts of terrorism?

It would be nice if we could all live our simple little lives doing the best we can with what we have.  Dad and I had a quiet morning after I took Haiti for a walk.  The air was very damp and yes it can make you feel chilled even when it is not so cold.

Carol dropped by to brighten up our morning.  They are having lots of trips back and forth to the stars trying to find the right parts etc.  Dad went in again to give them a hand.  Later there was a call Ben was playing soccer in White Rock and that would have been great to be able to go to see them all and the game too of course.  Wisdom prevail so they came here after the game which evidently Ben was outstanding as goalie and drew the attention of some scouters.

Theresa came over with Morgan and Ben and we shared a light lunch that Kim produced.

One thing I do know for certain is religion attracts bad people like flies to honey.  It has the potential to abuse people and corrupt their thoughts with crazy ideas.  I think also ignorance does at times produce crude humor which mocks what others consider to be sacred but to resort to violence is evil.
Then they use religion to justify their actions.  What may look like defeat today may turn into a victory for those who will be carrying on.

It is important for us not to lose heart  or stop believing in goodness.

Day by day it is a challenge to keep the seeds of hope alive in our hearts for the coming of spring!

Remember Popeye, Beth? It was outrageous and some say had too much brutality....but my boys loved it! Popeye would hit Bluto over the head with a steel girder...these days people say that it is too full of violence for kids to watch....but I know my kids knew it was just for fun and not real. They loved Popeye! I bet yours did too.

It is very disheartening to hear and read about all the terror attacks going on throughout the world. Sad that religion is at the heart of it. Why do these radical muslims think they are so superior that they can cause such heartbreak to others. There always has been cruelty in the world....the book I am reading about the Czars of Russia boggles my mind with atrocious acts.

One has to wonder why? I pray for peace and love for all...but know it will never happen.

Yesterday was another wonderful day of visiting for the Bennett family. How blessed you are to have such a close and caring family who you see often.
So many seniors are along.

My cousin, my only blood relation ( besides my sons) will be 90 this year and he and his daughter made Christmas dinner for 24 seniors who live in his apartment building. They would have been alone....can you imagine...no one invited them for Christmas supper?

It is a cold day again. Our son is painting our bathroom...so will be back again today. Otherwise we will be watching the Continental Cup of curling and the NFL playoffs.

It is going to be another great day again!

Love, Nancy

Thank you Nancy. Good to hear about good things happening in our world.
I did take time yesterday to visit our elderly neighbors Mary and Scotty. They are in their nineties and an inspiration to us both.
Nice to have help with our projects that need to be done at home.
Enjoy your day!
love beth
