A beautiful orange and pink sunrise promised a sunny day.
Instead the day was gray and dull and a little chilly. Lots of piles of snow that are still hanging around. The snow men are melting with only a arm or two left.
Dad and I decided to drive into the Sylvia before the rain started to fall. We have not been in the city for ages and there are even more buildings reaching to the sky. People were walking briskly and there were several men carrying flowers and looking so proud of themselves. I mention flowers were a good idea although the heart boxes of chocolates have been fun but unless they are gluten free I will not take any chances.
The Sylvia has completely changed all the furnishings and lost a bit of that coming home feeling we are used to having. More modern and with two new bars. We enjoyed sitting by the window and seeing families on bikes and dog walkers and joggers passing by our window.
We arrived home and yes I had a nap and dad went out shopping. I had been up early and had a walk. Dad was out on his bike the day before which was warmer and sunnier. Yes he came home with flowers and a rebuilt computer. A very enjoyable day!
We watched the hockey game but it was not too exciting.
In chapter 13 Jesus sets an example of unconditional love by washing the feet of the disciples. The character that stands out is Simon Peter who refuses to let Jesus wash his feet. The water at this time is a cleansing agent. Jesus is inviting hi to experience the promises of the freedom of serving others and becoming truly human with humility and grace.
