ALL SET

Yes the date for surgery is all set.
It will be on Sept. 20 the day Ken may arrive.

The surgeon seemed awfully young but was willing to take the time to inform us about the decision for surgery and the risks that may be involved but he has never experienced these things himself and there is always solutions if problems occur.  I asked about fish and chips and he said definitely No.

We went shopping for new sheets for our bed as I have been wearing them out with frequent washings.  Dad lost interest and wandered away.  I could not make up my mind.  Should I buy the really expensive ones?

We both enjoyed sitting out on our front porch and had visits with several neighbors.

Today I plan to go visiting.

Good to have a date for Larry's surgery. It seems that Drs today are obliged to tell you all the possible complications before they operate . It can make things even more scary than they already are. When my Dr gave me this long list of possible complications including losing my leg , before my Knee surgery . l said to him well what would you do and he said in a jolly voice Oh l'd have the surgery and l said right well thats my decision too. What a fuss if l hadn' t wanted the surgery l wouldn't have been there and you wait so long for orthopaedic surgery do they expect you to cancel at the last minuit. l am just waffling on here. l hppe to visit a delightful lady of 93 today who is managing with a fair bit of help she has cancer but is very welcoming at times its like grand central station in her apartment.Looks like another gorgeous day today .Be well. Much love. Jane.

It is such good news that dad has his surgery scheduled so soon. And it will be a help to have Kenny here at the same time.

I am tired and grouchy today, stayed up too late since it was so hot, and then figured I might as well wait for Randy to get home, which he did around 12:30.

Let the dogs stay up with me too since it gets hot in the laundry room where they sleep. Peanut ran and hid when Randy got home because she knows she is not supposed to be up in our room.

YAY....Larry will soon be feeling well and able to eat his favourite things, like fish and chips. Good news on the surgery date. Nice too, that Ken will be there to help out. Usually, you are just in the hospital overnight ...hope that is the case for Larry.

That heat sure can take the energy out of you, especially when you cannot sleep at night. Poor Sandra, she will be exhausted today. I hope it cools down there. We had a cool front go through last evening and it was a gloriously cool day today! Had to wear a sweater in the city....first time since spring. We will sleep well tonight.

We had some excitement at supper time yesterday. Our two dogs were going crazy....barking like I never heard them before...I looked out and there was a large black bear in our fenced back yard and the dogs were only 6 feet away...barking.
The bear was agitated and going one way and then another....then took a charge at them...lucky I trained them to COME and they listened...they came right up the ramp and in the house like little troopers. So proud of them.
They got treats right away.
The bear was a mama with three cubs on the other side of the fence. WHEW.
I am not afraid of bears...but sure was scared for my dogs. I knew if I went closer the dogs would want to protect me and perhaps charge the bear.
The bear was after the few apples that were left on the tops of the trees.

I am a judge, one of three, in a photography contest that is being judged tomorrow. I guess I will judge from an artist's point of view because I don't have much knowledge about photography. Good thing the other two are professional photographers. It is a fund raiser for Grand Beaches Community Centre. A community near us.

My tooth abscess is slowly getting better...today was the first day I didn't have to take pain killers...still on the antibiotics. Still sore...and swollen. I don't know how the dentist and hygienist could miss it when I was there two weeks ago.

Well, I wish you both a cool evening and a good sleep,

Love, Nancy
